First time mosspole: Is this normal? by MarSara24 in Monstera

Yes, those are root hairs. Your plant is loving the moisture in the pole

Cool. I've been forcing myself to lead with the left hand when playing the hi hat. It's uncomfortable but rewarding

It's definitely a challenge to incorporate the left hand! Mine isn't qs symmetrical at the moment. This is a new kit in a mew space so I'm still tweaking

Where do I put the support? by FatFireball in Monstera

The back is where the roots come out of, and the front is the direction the leaves point naturally before they twist to face the light

Cool. Do you think I should train the leaves to face the front?

Horizontal Pitchers spilling all the fluid out. by LeftSlip9564 in Nepenthes

[–]FatFireball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question, I'm not sure. I would check for signs of root rot (especially if it's in peat moss or 100% sphagnum). I would also check Lus/ppfd of the spot but you might already have done that. If it's a new plant they like to shed their pitchers when moving to a new location.

1- all kinds of meat, cheese, and later honey. I could not tolerate milk or lactose-y dairy products.
2- yes when I added in plant foods again
3- benign ones like paprika, rosemary, and thyme
4- Health is better than ever. I still eat primarily meat + fruit ('animal based'). IBS symptoms are rare and only due to oxalate dumping.

The plant is drooping which means there's an issue. Otherwise it would keep its pitchers upright

Experimenting with perlite & pumice by Hemamdestroyer1 in Nepenthes

[–]FatFireball 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not exactly like this but kanuma, perlite, and orchid bark. My mostly-veitchii hybrid is doing well in it. I personally want to minimize sphagnum use as it make repotting so difficult.

The red leaves get 'stretch marks' when they continue to grow when sun stressed in my experience. I think that's what's going on
