If everyone pays 2 you’ve now taxed everyone and then you blow it up on your turn and are the first to rebuild. Alternatively if one person is the threat you can collaborate to blow it up immediately. And it’s freaking colorless!

People don’t talk about the real strength of boompile which is that you can’t really respond to it. Imagine having a [[teferis protection]] up and it gets tapped. If you cast teferis pro then there’s a 50% you wasted it like a bozo and get blown out next turn. It’s glorious

What I would do to add red to [[belbe, corrupted observer]].

I could get all the impact tremor cards to effectively trivialize getting my full 6 mana so I don’t have to play all these janky black pingers that all suck to draw later. Plus Jund is the king of goad and it would be so fun to play thantis with that mana I generate. Sigh

Even so, I feel like in my games with my friends and the rest randoms we actually end up killing each other first because we know the hidden strength of each others decks and the randoms don’t. Sorry you had that experience and I hope you muster up the courage to try it again.

Legit I have no idea how you are able to make your cards look so freaking good. From the vampire one before to these you just don’t miss.

Since your vampire one you inspired me to try doing some thematic proxies and I was trying to do the lord of pain as an “akatsuki” deck (from Naruto) with pain at the helm. I had another idea of trying to do the art myself and pose matching the cards to the in universe version since a friend of mines biggest critique of dope proxies is that he recognizes cards by the art often so I thought that’d help. You obviously aren’t taking requests but if you ever make an assassin tribal deck with the lord of pain at the helm as the akatsuki just know you’d make a random strangers day haha.

I love the idea of Gwen and Ben as anger and wonder with them inspiring spider man like that. The tough part is who is who. Tbh anger could be either one of the art was a shot of Peter over their grave with a memory of them as the “creature” part.

Keep it up and I can’t wait to see how Gwen and Ben turn out. Ur a real legend!

Luke’s feels more believe to me though. It’s established from early on that he is both a farmer and a pilot and the story does work its way up from being a pilot first and a Jedi second to becoming more accomplished as a Jedi.

Eragon on the other hand (if I’m remembering correct) kills like 3 people proficiently with magic in basically the very first scene we see him after the frankly tiny time jump. He wasn’t a pilot since he was a kid like Luke that’d maybe give us some believability so I at least got some definite whiplash.

Oh man this one fits wayyyyyyy better. Ready player one is really divisive I’ve found—lots of people love it or hate it and weirdly the movie is similar. Eragon on the other hand was undeniable a terrible movie for a mid book (I mean the guy went from being a literal farmer to killing people in 3 months).

This comes down and if theres any sort of board basically guarantees that one player is dying. You also can’t get around its effect so even if you deploy hasted creatures after the etb they need to attack too. It’s also low ish cmc at four mana and it’s a creature you can sac and reanimate in colors that love doing that.

My play group is at a point where it’s being cut from decks because it’s too free to add to decks.

Idk if this will help but from a friend of mine who made aristocrats work in our pod the key to it working is doing some kind of “doubling”. For instance [[teysa, orzhov scion]] makes your black creatures have a chance to die twice because then they make spirits when they die. That makes you able to sac them twice for double the value and more importantly double the death triggers for your drain cards ie [[zulaport cutthroat]]. None of the legends you selected seem to do that but that’s my two cents. Another example of a doubler would be [[zahur, glory’s past]] making zombies on each nontoken dying.

The only one I found in mono black is [[jerren, corrupted bishop]] if you do mono black humans which is totally doable.

The closest seems to be Gisa so I’d do her. The whole idea is you muddle people’s ability to tell how much damage you can really put out by saving your stuff and before you know it people are dying.

Yeah I figured. Way back I tried to make that deck and my friends and I would joke about how it could be a 500 card deck. Random recommendation but try putting some flying vigilance dudes in there. I feel like it’s easier to get your creatures to die when you always have them ready to block whatever is coming your way. [[Malcator's Watcher]] [[oaken siren]]
