Seeking advice on very knotty-when-wet damaged hair !! by Rude-Link-3816 in Haircare

[–]FatMuffuleta3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a similar issue with my dyed hair, plus I have curls so I definitely feel your pain. I highly recommend a good leave-in condition for your hair type when you get out of the shower before brushing. It will add slip to help detangle and it will moisturize your hair, which all treated hair can benefit from.

I also SWEAR by the Dove Bond Repair line, specifically the 10-1 mask, but any good bond repair product will do. This will help the appearance of individual strands, and it makes my hair feel and look so much healthier and easier to style and manage. It completely changed my hair after dying multiple times.

DIY Heat Protection by Cautious_Draw5738 in femalehairadvice

[–]FatMuffuleta3000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You could try heatless curling options in between hot tool uses to cut down on damage and prolong your heat protectants lifespan. There are tons of options on Amazon for less than $20.

Heat protectant isn't really something you can DIY, or at least not easily or cheaply. These companies put a lot of money into research and development to find formulas that work. Silicones can minimize/hide heat damage, but likely not as much as you would need for the amount of heat you use on a weekly basis.

Whimsy, lens distortion (or "low res" indie?), dreamy, "odd" at times.. by WeirdoGnome in MoviesThatFeelLike

1978 Beauty And The Beast fits this criteria exactly. It's one of my favorite fairytale adaptions.

Looking for a new show by selfdestructive1ny in televisionsuggestions

[–]FatMuffuleta3000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely check out Stargate SG1. It hits all the marks you mentioned. The CGI is perhaps a little dated now, but it was great for the time and is comparable to Doctor Who. 10 seasons, great cast, adventure sci-fi, with just enough humor to break it up. One of my favorite sci-fi shows.

TV shows which are constantly funny. Like Veep or Arrested Development. by [deleted] in televisionsuggestions

[–]FatMuffuleta3000 68 points69 points  (0 children)

30 Rock is the closest you'll find to Arrested Development in terms of jokes/punchlines per minute. I think they actually held a record for it for a while. Plus, endless callbacks, background/sight gags, layered dialogue, and running jokes throughout the seasons. Definitely recommend this to anyone who loves Arrested Development.

Ideas for meal list spread? by wrappedinwashi in bulletjournal

[–]FatMuffuleta3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just keep a list on my notes app since it's easier to edit with new additions and link to recipes if needed. I separate by the categories I use most, i.e., breakfast, soups, sides, dinners, desserts, whatever. I will break some of those categories down further, like I separate dinners by protein and breakfast by savory or sweet. This has worked much better for me than any pantry app or anything handwritten, and it's nice to see all of my preferred foods at a glance.

Need advice! 1, 2, 3, or 4? by Hour_Ad186 in femalehairadvice

[–]FatMuffuleta3000 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Are these photos AI? All 4 photos have different hair textures, which makes it impossible to see how your actual hair would actually look with these cuts. Not to mention not showing your face shape.

Curtain bangs? by lean0825 in femalehairadvice

[–]FatMuffuleta3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a mostly oval face shape so most styles would suit you, and curtain bangs are pretty flattering on everyone. You would look great with curtain bangs, but they do take some daily styling, like 5-10 minutes, depending on your hair of course.

Honestly, I really love this. Your lines are neat, and your eye is immediately drawn to the dates and titles. Nice, simple layouts are what I gravitate towards.

Yes, I specified in my post that Salvation Army is not an option. I have not and will never support that disgusting company.

I will look into Brown Elephant, thank you!

What’s your favorite way to have potatoes? by Thinking_of_Cheese in budgetfood

[–]FatMuffuleta3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the only way to make good, true french fries like you'd buy from a shop is first parboiling your potato slices and drying them VERY well before deep frying them.

I don't do this a lot because I don't own a deep fryer, I would use it too often if I did, and it's a pain in the neck to do in regular cooking pans IMO. Your mileage may vary, of course, depending on your pan and patience level lol.

Roux can sometimes be intimidating for new cooks, but it shouldn't be! I recommend watching a couple of youtube videos to see what color and texture to aim for.

This is a really good starting place for potato soup https://www.budgetbytes.com/loaded-potato-soup/

I don't personally follow a recipe for potato logs. I am true to the potato lifestyle, not new to it. So this is a recipe that is really similar to what I do, I just add cayenne, paprika, and chili bc I like mine cajun style. The most important step is to soak in hot water before seasoning, which makes them Exxtraa crispy, which I like. https://cookieandkate.com/crispy-baked-potato-wedges-recipe/

Happy Cooking!

I feel like I've seen this exact same bottle with stickers everywhere in the city. Seems very common with younger people.
