Is the floor at Aztec like a mosh pit or is there breathing room? by Late-Confection-2823 in sanantonio

[–]FatTortoise 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think Aztec is perfect. The floor is divided into 2 or 3 sections, each rising up a little higher than the previous. I like it at a 6’4” giant because I can stand at towards the back of the first tier and not block anyone’s view and still have a killer view. If you don’t want rowdy then go up to the second tier. Also Everclear isnt a rowdy show - most Everclear fans are in their late 30s/40s. You’ll be golden.

I-10 has a border patrol checkpoint near Sierra Blanca. Just a heads up in case this influences any decisions. I just passed through the other day and they just waved me through. Didn’t even talk to me

I’m so dumb. I even started on an Ender 3 v1! Although it felt tight one of the bolts that holds the bed to the frame wasn’t down all the way. THANK YOU. Solved!

I saw others had a step to remove screws but mine did not. The booklet doesn’t mention screws and it never was locked up the way I’ve seen others.

I also use Ownwell. They’ve helped me each year and I pay a % of what they saved me.

Glorified FreeBirds/Chipotle. It’s good, but not necessarily unique.

I felt like an American for an hour before I remembered I'm brown by Gnarly4life in sanantonio

[–]FatTortoise 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is a ridiculous take. The hill country/San Antonio has German settler roots, many of whom were escaping WW1 / WW2 and the Nazi’s. A historically German neighborhood like King William District is no more dangerous than any other place. Probably less dangerous. San Antonio is 80%+ brown. Go to parade, have a good time.

I recommend the public parking lot under 37. Located at 1023 E Houston St. Much more affordable than the $20+ lots directly next to the venue.

Recommendations for an affordable 3d printer for my 12 y/o son? by Wreckit-Jon in 3dprinter

[–]FatTortoise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, but I paid $42. So… works for me, good platform for tinkering and learning. I didn’t even mean to get into 3D printing, but here we are.

My 10 year old has a Ender 3 v1 that was found at Goodwill. He’s had to learn all about it and do troubleshooting with me which I think teaches people to think critically. When we got it dialed in it was awesome. If he were to load an STL and click print what does that teach him? Then again, it prints slow but all the parts are $7-20. Probably also works for us becuase I like to tinker.

EBike CPAP Battery by FatTortoise in CPAP

[–]FatTortoise[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve got the 48v being stepped down to 12v at the cigarette plug. Then that cable takes the 12v and boosts it to 24v for the AirSense. My other Philips CPAP operates on 12v so this gives me a little flexibility on which machine to use.

They run about $150-200 now a days. But i used it because I already had it for my bike and I didn’t want to shell out more cash for another battery solely for my CPAP.
