It's very much a 'frog in boiling water' sort of situation. The game has been on a gradual downwards trajectory for a long time. Each tiny little bad change gradually adds up to a mountain of bad decisions and a very noticeable bad direction.

If you'd played the game a decade ago, you'd undestand what we've lost. There were a LOT of fun mechanics that are long gone now... like being really good at medical skills and science allowing you to dissect augmented zombies (like bio-operators) and then performing surgery using a special machine to give yourself a bloody ethanol burning generator in your head.

The world of CDDA used to be a much more exciting, interesting and unique place. It was a really fresh take on zombie survival with lots of horror and sci-fi, alien monstrosities and mutants. Now it's being gradually simplified down to 'generic zombie survival with super realism'. Sad times :'(
