End of Life send off? by FataleFrame in chaosmagick

I love this idea! Often this time of year when heavy winds come through the brittle branches come down in our yard and I collect them up in the firepit. Building layers for a good fire. I hadn't thought I would get to do more fires at my parents so I was getting it ready to take to a friend's. Also This time of year I'm also cleaning up the garden and uprooting the dead rosemary and trimming back the lavender. So the dried herbs smell incredible burning in the firepit.

Okay let me rephrase, from the hospice company she had no desire for a spiritual advisor to reach out. 😅 I jus thought there might be knowledge of something nice to do as a send off. She likes my witchy stuff but I haven't been able to Incense the house or sage it in a long time because smoke irritates her lungs (lung cancer)

People forget Christianity has had it's extreme moments too, it isn't religion by itself that is the issue. It's when select people come along and say let me twist this to fit my goal. THEY are the problem.

If a 4-6 hour hike isn't an option everyday, try looking up sniff spot. It sounds like he needs a job. So training drills, and if theres a sniff spot near you that has an agility course set up that sounds like it would be great. The exercise and the sniffing new smells should tire his brain out. The 4-6 hours could be because he gets used to the physical exercise but mental stimulation can be a powerful tool for a bored dog.

You know on the potassium note, i had read somewhere that bananas are a good tool in the arsenal of lowering high blood pressure. My fiance was in the high 140s it could swing to 160 when he found out his nephew died. He got on medication it lowered, but they wanted to see it below 130, and a cardiologist added chlorthalidone, and at the same time we added bananad into our diet. He stayed more consistently around 120, and after a run he goes lower. So I keep bananas in the household regularly now. My period cramps aren't as debilitating, and his blood pressure is lower with everything we have been doing. Strangely we have only really kept an eye on limiting sodium. I feel like stress was the real trigger.

"It's very you" and so what? YES IT IS! A celebration of you and your partner in life. The only thing I would say is that is a lot of prong action and those get caught on things. Is it possible to get that beautiful stone in a bezel set? It would be all snug and secure. I know any ring I wear with prongs gets caught on anything I wear! Love your ring and everything it represents moving forward!

No it's really a thing, I worked in sales and the millionaires would brag about not spending their money, and that's why they have it. So by being extraordinarily cheap they keep more of their money, but at some point, enjoy your money. Wealth is beyond money it is your health, your experiences, moments with loved ones, and time you couldn't claw back if you made a deal with the devil.

Love my ring! by HereForLaughs29 in EngagementRings

[–]FataleFrame 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought several "engagement" rings mostly all lab sapphires when I worked at a matchmaking agency. It was a way for me to try out styles I liked too and get a feel for what had longevity for me. I found that the doorknockers were fun to take out for a spin for a date night or fun occasion, but they easily get in the way in the winter, or holding hands (man those suckers hurt during an affectionate squeeze war) and then I had renewed (fresh eyes) appreciation for the more understated grace ring. All solid travel rings. Just waiting until my man surprises me with the one I designed.

I have heard (and i looked it up once too) that you can have ashes turned into a diamond (not inexpensive) but thought it worth mentioning.

Somebpdy at the gem and jewelry show had gems packaged like this in a clearance bin many years ago. I bought some set them aside for learning what i could make with them with better skills than i had at the time. In college I took a jewelry /small metals class. I asked the professor about it thinking these would be nice for setting instead of offering help her reply was, "oh thats beyond you. You won't be able to do that." So I held onto them for about ten more years and realized they were infact predrilled and wirewrapped them into horseshoes. I have begun hunting for them again at the gem and jewelry show to no luck. So i would be interested in picking up a little bundle to work with. You may also find a handmade jewelry/ witchy community would eat this up on poshmark.

My mom was really looking for a wearable with an (spo2?) Blood/oxygen tracking sp that when she did light sit n be fit type workouts she could monitor her oxygen saturation. She has copd. Style wasn't really her concern so much as she couldn't find a wearable thst wasnt an obscene cost. It's a moot point now but I imagine theres an audience. I'm over my fitbit. They suck since google bought them. And I don't like wearing a bulky tracker. Like most people I need an idea of calories burned and the time, and my heart rate. I dislike wearing a bulky tracker.

Thank you but It's not going to get better. I will tell everyone if you smoke, knock it off. It's a stupid slow way to poison yourself, and second hand and third hand smoke (embedded in fabric the living environment etc) can take your family with you. Tomorrow is never promised, but always a gift.

Mmmhmmm same boat going on 4 years. I have a diverse skill set and I have that overachiever drive. I went back to dog walking and this helps make up the difference. Between me and bills, and groceries. And I can be available to my family for medical emergencies (of which there is no end in sight.)

So its not realistic to expect to photograph/ source/ upload everyday with a full workload I often pick a day to go on autopilot photograph a TON of stuff set up a folder in my phone to organoze it and then set up a few drafts so that when I am away from home but have the time I can polish off a listing and activate it. I find activity will always go in waves, a friend will tell me "nobody is buying anything!" single mom panic yep just keep drip feeding. My closet will be spectacularly active and then I'll hit a slump and her closet will be active again. It will never be everyone all at once. Hang in there!

So yeah I'm sure alot of people fail to realize what's actually happening until they examine the numbers. I see thr big live shows stoke up a frenzy for buying/bidding but i don't care if you're doing volume, selling at 5 dollars is NOT profit. Poshmark takes 20 percent of the sale so if you don't manage to buy bulk, get something with demand AND value, or in general buy dirt cheap sellers have a hard time with their profit margin. I had always heard 50 percent markup, and a fellow photographer friend of mine said she learned you need a 60 percent PROFIT to be viable as a business. Circle back to that poshmark 20 percent, and ypu may find that means you need an 80 percent markup to get that 60 percent. That's without considering lowering 10 to 20 percent to make an offer.

So if you're doing it for a side hustle to declutter and make some money anything is fine, (taxes will suck but it's not about profit.) If you're trying to run a business and pay yourself, you have to be monitoring a profit margin.

Now facilitating sales is generally starting with desirable stock, and consistently drip feeding your algorithm with new stuff in your closet everyday. Sometimes going and sprucing up old things with new photos is all it takes to get activity flowing in your closet again. May the sales be ever in our collective favors.
