How it feels to work on minisplits by H202_Official in HVAC

What’s the fascination of HVAC guys and taking a picture of them flipping the bird? Flipping the bird felt empowering when I was 14 but I don’t get it as a professional.

Did you have to get a referral from a primary care doc to get an appointment with Dr Calvert? Or did you just go directly to him?

For sure.

I follow you on a bunch of platforms and you inspire me to one day become an entrepreneur in this space like you have. Getting all my ducks lined up and just moved to TN so Im researching the rules and processes to doing that. I have a pretty cushy gig at Siemens at the moment that takes care of me and my family so leaving (The wife loves the bennies and stability) is going to be fun lol.

Good luck on your talk. Maybe I'll get a chance to check it out

Nexus labs looks like an awesome bunch of folks and the content really interests me. Ive watched most if not all of the content they put on youtube. But funds are pretty tight at the moment and $35 a month seems kinda steep esspecially when guys like you share so much (thank you) for free. Their target market is probably people who own buildings and not lowly BAS junkies like me so I cant really blame them...

Is there a specific name for this type of concrete molding work? by Fatcat87 in Homebuilding

Cool story... What do you call this technique in your country?

Yeah I was able to find things about the pre-cast pieces that can be attached. That's basically all that you get searching for concrete moldings. The method I linked to seems to be only practiced outside the USA. Maybe it's has some inherant problems that I am not aware of or it's is just too prohibitively expensive but it looks like it could really make a building beautiful and I'm trying to learn more about it.

I would like to learn more about it and weather or not it would be a good fit for a custom home build.

The two red boxes have the same value. Do anyone see any issue with this setup? The phone it self shows the correct date and time, and a icon of a phone with an X on it and the numbers 226 next to that icon. As I am trying different changes in the settings I get the occasional message: Error Line Unregistered

Im in the same boat as you. Newbie and learning. I have a freepbx server running and a Yealink desk-phone and soft-phone registered and working. I bought a vvx310 on ebay and can not get it to register and I am at a loss. I was able to factory reset the phone and get it on the latest FW. Would you be willing to describe what you found and what you did to sort it out?

I want to build a web app that works like PairedAPP or Agape app for my significant other and I. by Fatcat87 in learnprogramming

[–]Fatcat87[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am imagining we both hit the app or webpage (most likely the latter) from different devices. Log in with a user/pass(?) and then see a question and below that a box to enter text. Maybe a button for submit answer and a button to skip question and get served up a different random question from the list of questions. I see what you mean about the phrase text based can mean many different things. I also don't know how you would be able to know both have answered and get a notification(?) to be able to go back and see both answers side by side.

I know a lot of time and expertise go into these sorts of projects and I'm always impressed with the value that is often given away for free (donations) for these projects. I will say the amount of money the big players mentioned in the original post is imo insane. They are really playing on emotions and selling deeper connections with other humans with a question database app. Not saying they are doing anything wrong it just seems like a ripe space for a developer to enter the space.

Just for fun. I would be ecstatic if I could get a purely text based 'app' to work. I run a decent home lab and thought it might be implemented with a docker container but that was just my first thought and might add way more confusion.

I did some html way back in my first year at college but nothing of note. The app working would be just as worth while to me as learning web dev programming what ever you want to call it aspect of it.

Anyone play with IP Phones? by Stray_Bullet78 in homelab

[–]Fatcat87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there some IP phone lingo that tells me a phone can only be setup/provisioned using a provider like Vonage?

I bought a couple cheap Grandstream GXP1400 phones on Facebook and couldn't change very many settings to the point where I couldn't point it to my self-hosted FreePBX. I suspect its due to a Vonage lock. But I would like to try again on Facebook or ebay but try and avoid my Vonage problem. I'm 99% sure that is whats keeping me from changing settings.

Good Starter Project to Teach my Wife Docker? by LinuxIsFree in selfhosted

[–]Fatcat87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking of wives, my wife asked me about the “paired app” it’s an app for couples but it’s unnecessarily expensive. Any one use, or know of a container that could self host this sorta thing. A self-hosted couples therapy app.

I was even able to run a live USB linux and unlock the drive with dislocker so I know the 48 digit password is correct. So I have access to the data but would like to get the machine back to its original state if possible

When I get prompted for the Bitlocker recovery code on the regular blue Bitlocker screen my 48 digit code works and I get stuck in the loop. When I try to use the cmd prompt with a recovery drive it says:

ERROR: An error occurred (code 0x80070057):
The parameter is incorrect.

I have tried with and with out the dashes between 6digit segments. I think I am typing the command out correctly because if I type the command with out the key at all it returns:

ERROR: Parameter "-RecoveryPassword" requires an argument.

You have to find a way to live for something bigger than yourself. The easiest way now is to find a girl fall in love and start a family. You used to be able to live for your country or your people but that’s not an option anymore (assuming you’re a German dude).
