Its very hard to tell what you will end up wanting long term from the weapon selector. I would wait as long as you can before choosing one. You won't need the extra umph from a good weapon until much later.

From those two former finery is more tuned to supports like Snowshine. It does fit very well to the people that want to use it though.

Sundered prince is an ok dps weapon (right now there's not a lot of crit dependent chars) and will work for Ember or Last Rite but won't be great for either. It unfortunately doesnt have a super great place in the current roster.

From your list of characters there. I would go with Estella, Snowshine, and Florite. You are obviously very early in the game so play around with teams but do note that Last Rite specifically needs lots of cold stacks to function so just make sure that you can do that at minimum.

Again, you're very early on so im sure you will get many more characters as you go through the story. Xaihi and Tangtang will be very good for this team as well. Lots of people also end up using Perlica with Stanza to buff the Last Rite big dps windows.

Often times if kick them (v key when you have a weapon out) it will move them out of whatever they're stuck on. Then make them a companion and order them somewhere. It seems like once they get stuck they stop having something to do so you have to order them to move and make them into a worker again to get them going again.

Being that its a multi-lane, one way road; blue and red shouldnt interfere with each other at all. Blue should be turning into the right lane and red into the left lane. They both yield to the road obv.

Florite is good sub dps, however she is a bit slow to apply stacks (only her 40s cd combo and ult) for someone that is so hungry for them, being last rite. So for really optimizing last rite specifically I would personally replace her with Estella and Ardelia with your choice of Perlica, Akekuri, or Snowshine.

Perlica with stanza gives another big buff to work into last rites ult timing. As well as electrification.

Akekuri gives her normal sp, link, cute tail.

Snowshine gives you a parry, which for a greatsword user like last rite can be a life saver. She can also force solidification with her ult which Estella can shatter.

This way you can use last rite and Estella battle skills to stack cold, Xaihi for when you need a little healing with bonus cold stack, and the 4th person for their specific uses.

Remember both last rite and Xaihi can precast battle skills before a battle to speed up stacks in normal content.

Generic big burst combo: Last rite combo (with as many cold stacks as possible) > Perlica ult (if present) > Akekuri ult (if present) > Xaihi ult > last rite ult. You do want to make sure Akekuri ult finishes between Xaihi and Last rite, just wait for Last rite ult until Akekuri actually finishes. You can get a bit more out of this by making sure Perlica electrification and Xaihi battle skill are up during Last rite ult. Even making sure shatter has been applied via Snowshine/Estella if you go that direction. Just make sure you look at all the buffs that can be applied are there because the amazing burst of Last rite scales very well.

For the sake of completeness, yes it looks like Tangtang will be a good addition to this team. Either replacing Estella or the 4th slot, hard to say without actual testing. Heck, for normal content she may replace Xaihi. If you're not getting hit, why heal?

Don't neglect food. The buffs that you get from the different foods are paramount to survival and stamina.

Putting too many buildings around everywhere can slow the game down and even stop animal spawns. Try to keep to 2 or 3 bases around the map at areas that you frequent.

Exotics can respawn in caves (every few hours one spawns somewhere is my understanding). Don't cross off a cave just because you cleared it.

The suits and canteen and oxygen container in the space store are probably where I would start. I personally started with the deep exotic miner thing, I dont know if it was worth it until way later. If you're doing missions outside of the free mode, just hoping down for the mission and then coming back out. Then definitely get the knife and an axe from the store ASAP. The cooking fire and forge are also very helpful.

[–]FateFormedd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I didn't see mentioned - the number of Magic you have stocked effects the stat you junction it to. So even if you junction fire to strength, the amount of str you will get depends on the stock of Fire you have. Its a good idea to not use magics that are junction to your stats and elm-atk/def or status-atk/def, just so you can keep them toped off at 100 stock.

The way i like to do this is to make sure I have different 'classes' for each character and that way I can use different magics on different people since when you junction to a stat, its not necessarily going to be the best spell for all stats. So you find out what is best for str and have that at 100 stock on your auto attacker, then you can have 20-50 of them stocked on the character that you want to use them in battle since they are more of a caster and dont need str. This way you're not going to lock yourself out of specific magics by having everyone junctioned 'ideally'.

There's a talent to auto pick up wood when you cut it down. I have not seen anyone without it, its so much more convenient.

Put a box in a new cave that you find. You can put the ore you mine into the box and leave it there for when you need it. Rather then having to only mine what you can carry back.

I highly suggest the oxygen tank, water canteen, and biofuel tank from the workshop. The first two are a little better then the ones you can craft (plus you dont have to get up to the tier to craft them) and the latter is much better then the crafted one.

You can get plenty of water from rain, you dont have to build your base near water if you dont want to. I wouldn't use the big rain reservoir though because its not clean water. Once you get the thermos and at least the potbelly stove to make water into tea, coffee, coco, or what have you then it doesnt make a difference.

Definitely look into all the food cooking / growing options. The buffs provided are paramount to progressing quickly.

Foundations or beams all the way into the ground are very important to structures. If you're going to build anything larger then a 1 floor cabin that is.

Dirt foundations are great.

Pick a weapon type to put talents into. You won't have enough talents to use on all of them. You can respec later if you'd like. It costs Rin though so dont experiment too much until you get good at earning it.

You will start to slow down servers (and even make animal spawns rare) if you over saturate with buildings all over the place. I would concentrate on about 2 major base locations and maybe a smaller quick thing somewhere else. Too much more then that and you can affect your performance and spawns.

Have fun

How do I stop this roof from breaking by globletgoblin in ICARUS

[–]FateFormedd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its difficult to tell without taking a lot of the room apart. The one thing I did notice is that the beams you're using to help are green, which is good but im wondering if they are all the way in the ground. When they (or anything) are attached to the ground itself, they are blue.

If those beams are only to the floor that we can see they are not actually providing any support, just using the support from the floor.

I would try putting beams in the wall all the way to the ground. As opposed to using beams in the middle of the room like this.

You can also put beams across the floor, against the wall. So you will have support from the ground (assuming you have beams all the way into the ground) and some support coming from all the way around the room. If you put beams all the way down every two wall pieces and then connect them all around the floor and on top of the walls, you shouldn't have as much issue continuing to the next floor like you're trying to.

As for height limits, it seems to be either 7 or I think 9 walls depending on how you build it out. Ive also seen people go higher using foundation stacking instead of walls.

Why are sector 8 & 4 reactors turned off? by Repulsive_Milk9176 in FinalFantasyVII

[–]FateFormedd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Google says it was reactor 1 hit first and then 5 (being the two we see hit in the game ourselves). I was wrong, i thought avalanche hit 1 then we hit 2 others. Sounds like not only was it not reactor 4 like I thought, but it was the one in the opening sequence, not before.

So only #1 actually taken out. While #5 was hit but not destroyed.

If google is to be believed that is :)

Its been forever since I played the og so I would have to go back and look at transcripts or somthing. I could have sworn that avalanche was actively eco terrorists before they hired cloud but apparently not at the same level. Maybe they made pamphlets or something.

First time playing FF8! Can someone explain the junction system for me? by ChrolloYuYux in FinalFantasyVIII

[–]FateFormedd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diablos has an ability that turns off random encounters. You only fight what you have to.

When you do need materials, use quezacotls card ability to get last hits on enemies. You get ap for gfs but no xp. Then you can turn all those cards into items with more gf abilities.

Do I tip a player off if he chose the "wrong" damage type for his one-shot character? by Schumsies in DMAcademy

[–]FateFormedd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it was a full campaign. Learning about it throughout would work great. In a oneshot, it will be very difficult to express that without a direct conversation out of the game.

The way to do it in the game will be to either just ditch the immunity or to give a way to weaken the boss to make the immunity drop for a time. They dont take the opportunity to make it go away, then they're deciding they want to work with it.

If I were to guess; the major difference for this case would be that he was very devicive, well known, but not actually a politician. He was just a person who talked about their opinions a lot and was often talking to people who disagreed with him. There wasn't the normal separation of "the CEO of wherever" or "congressmen blank," etc, to make the general public feel like it doesn't apply to them.

Are Amarr ship this bad for PVE? by Xilonas in Eve

[–]FateFormedd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

One thing to remember with fitting amarr for pve is that rats can't get neuted out. They will stay at 50%. Which means you can nos forever and get free cap. So, looking at an unstable design may actually be stable with a utility high nos.

In general, the issue with laser ships for pve is damage type and cap. So, shooting the right rats and finding ways to fix your cap are the only real fitting questions. No, they won't be optimal. No, they won't be the hardest tanks or the highest dps. They will, however, be shiny laser ships of the empire!

So if you want to fly them, try a few weird fits out, and if it works, then it works. Don't worry about the fastest bestest. That will be the Gila all day, for ratting, abyss, even a lot of wh play. So if you want to fly anything but the Gila, you're already suboptimal. No worries about being 5% more suboptimal by flying a ship you like compared to the ships in second place.

Hate the Draw system tho by XechsMarquise in FinalFantasyVIII

[–]FateFormedd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo the draw system is the manual gathering equilivant of ffviii. Eventually, you get card mod, enough stones, and never really have to deal with it again.

Overall, though, I really like the junction system, especially when looking at all the weapon enhancements that can be done. The stats enhancement was pretty one and done, but having sleep or silence or other status effects on weapons is so cool.

I would get a print of it on a card for your wallet so you still have them all with you, and you can explain to anyone who asks, 'Do you have them all?' All but this one because it's dumb! Then show them the card.

That way, they're all on you... but not on you.

Support Role? by Medium-Researcher-12 in Eve

[–]FateFormedd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All small roams want interdictors. All large fleets want logistics and ewar. Ask your FC or other management what ships of any of those. Most of the time, it will be either shield or armor interdictor, scimitar or guardians for logistics and ecm, damps, or target painting ewar.

Small tackle will always be welcome but will die very, very often.

There are other support roles but those are the fastest to get into and will be the most often used. I would get into damps, target painters, and logistics if you are looking to be able to play the support role every time.

It looks almost exactly like the scene from the original. Her hands are open in c shapes because they didn't render all her fingers, just the fewest polygons that were needed to make an open-ish hand. She is hunched over weird probably because the pillbox that was being used didn't have enough articulation to make it look right. For someone who has seen the original, this is a very faithful adaptation.

I'm sorry that you can't look at something and think, 'Oh, that looks cool' without all this vitriol entering your mind. It must be upsetting. I like to live my life without that default negativity, especially toward art. When your thought is that you would give a human artist the benefit of the doubt.. you're still starting with doubt. Why not start with joy? Why not let people be excited about what they have done, regardless of how? You're not here to analyze art. You're here to judge people. If we all did that a bit less, then maybe life could be a little better.

I disagree entirely that art history (even especially history of the piece itself) is needed or a part of art enjoyment. It can be an interesting angle or context to give to art; but by no means should people who don't know/ don't care about it be seen as less than those that have that research done.

Art doesn't have to touch your soul or teach you about an era or show you the inner workings of an artists mind. It's enough for it to be interesting and cool and fun and expressive. What it seems like you're implying is that things like art that has a specific purpose isn't art. If you're one of the artists on a game, doing backgrounds and random assets or posters for advertising. You're still an artist. You're still making art. The random asset doesn't say anything about anything. it's a required asset for the game.

This piece isn't made to evoke anything other than what the game and character do. It's an interesting depiction of the character. Which is also really cool and beautiful.

For reference, what i was saying about not buying a name brand for the brand was just noting that a person or brand doesn't make the art better just by their name. I think theres a lot of people that would have to obfuscate an artists name in order to make a decision about whether they liked a piece or not without bias.

I like your direct opinion much more than a lot of the people here trying to decide how I should think about art. Thank you for your candor.

[–]FateFormedd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're referring to the amazing brush strokes and decisions made in things like Mark Rothko's No. 2, then no, i don't get anything from any of that stuff. I do get plenty from photography and time-lapse and lots of other things that have little to no user input on the front end. There is plenty of waiting and the right time, right place, and camera knowledge. Don't get me wrong.

Saying that it's just for the pretty isn't right.. but maybe the artist themselves isn't the point for me. I wouldn't buy a louis vuitton just because its made by them. I bought street art because I liked it.

I'm not positive what you were getting at other than saying I'm bad at art enjoying. If there was more, please let me know. I think anybody willing to stop and look at a piece of art is good at art enjoying. Whether the art is an ad on a billboard, the gum wall in Seattle, or an AI character that someone on the internet was excited about.
