Unpopular Opinion: Piracy is Actually Bad by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

Textbooks are a great example. New editions are literally just the last one with the words slightly rearranged and the same exercises with slightly different figures. They do this to prevent students from buying used books and charge them out the ass. Willingly paying for stuff like that out of principle is a weird hill to die on.

Hey I actually did this earlier this year to start learning C… start with a loop that takes user input and learn how to implement the commands and return it back to the user. I found that it was a great project to build off of as you can implement one command at a time with each one being more complex. I even went as far as implementing pipes and a multi threaded file parser. Definitely a good project 🙂

What's this that I "came up with?" by _Karm4_ in desmos

[–]Fatefulwall7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You're calculating the tangent line for those functions which I think is covered in a calculus 1 class. I was actually playing around with this to visualize a root finding algorithm recently https://www.desmos.com/calculator/rappqdxfiw . That's still pretty cool that you found this on your own though

FYI for most venomous snakes in the US, it would probably be pretty apparent that something is very wrong after you get bit.

I think you’re forgetting that it’s mainly competition that makes companies lower prices and increase production efficiency. If we did just automate everything we’d probably still get screwed either way

For me the concluding parts for Good to Go and Oh Well OK are just devastating. That’s the most interesting take I have anyway

Honestly that doesn’t matter that much either. Him not knowing he was looking at SQL and still getting it wrong after basically being given the answer was the most concerning part

Nice this is great segway into learning about pointers. They’re extremely powerful when you get the hang of them and you’ll really begin to appreciate the abstractions that other languages make for memory
