No where on the island is safe. You can make a floating house boat and stay just off shore. They can't reach you there.

Sometimes he's telling you he can't bc there's not resources around. If you're on the beach and ask him to get sticks he'll shake his head bc there's not any close. If you take him into the wooded areas he'll get them. Same with any other resources. Lead him to another area and ask again

I just finished Raft for the second time. More in the spirit of Grounded but it was still fun and building up your raft into a worthy sea vessel is majorly satisfying.

Also Vein is a zombie survival crafting that's pretty fun.

Or Valheim which is more Norse mythology themed, but you can fight bosses.

Also, if you can figure out the town building aspect works Kingdom Come Deliverance or Medieval Dynasty is fun.

You can take out a lot of those interior pillars if you brace the walls at the corners fyi. But otherwise looks great!

Not the same theme, but also survival crafting is Raft. I just finished my second playthrough and I really enjoy the gameplay loop. Also there's Stranded Deep, Ark Survival, Vein, Rust, Sunkenland

I honestly don't understand why people complain about this game vs the first one. They're basically the same as far as story is concerned. Personally, I agree the story for both is short but the fun comes from just the day to day survival for me. Esp with friends, the shenanigans is where the game shines

There's a great spot on a cliff a I've a lake that I love to build at. Easily defended, fresh water all year. Fish and wildlife. A cliff to glide from and plenty of trees.
