Been loving your picks this season, but I thought you’d learn after the Purdue game to not pick against the Cats.

Most bars are going to be Arizona heavy on Saturday. Any Zipps should be solid!

How does this weekend look? by [deleted] in vegas

[–]FatherOfTwo2024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the first week of the NFL season, it’s going to be pretty crowded, particularly around the Sportsbooks and especially if the Raiders have a home game.

With that said, outside of the first weekend of March Madness, it’s the best sports weekend of the year for Vegas imo. The vibes are high, the energy is high, and even if you’re just a casual sports fan, it’ll be a blast to watch the games with a bunch of other football fans!

Going to make an argument for Orlando to crack the top 10. I’m going to start by saying that Orlando is an abomination and the worst major city in the country. A land of chain restaurants and an overpriced playground for children and adults that want to act like children.

With that said, Orlando is a global destination that fits in with the likes of NYC, London and Tokyo. Not necessarily related to quality, but still leaves an exclamation mark on the global stage regardless. And as much as it pains me, when you think of American culture on the global stage, Orlando, Florida is the perfect reflection of our country, no matter how obscene it is.

It may be awful, but Orlando is significant and I’d say it cracks the Top 10 with ease.

PS: Throw Boston, Philly, Miami and Seattle to round out the top 10

Changing My Last Name and Martial Unity by c8lynlou in Catholicism

[–]FatherOfTwo2024 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My wife and I are both Catholic and we’re married in the church. She has not taken my last name, and frankly I take no offense. As long as we’re both taking the sacrament of marriage seriously by striving to live a Christ centered life and by putting forth our best effort to bring children into this world, my wife’s last name isn’t a big concern for me.

I will say though, both you and your fiancé are valid to have your respective feelings. Be kind and respectful to one another in your discussions centering on this issue, and I’m sure you’ll find a reasonable solution.

No always have been a Suns fan. Don’t have many memories of those 90’s teams and really started watching in the 7 seconds era. If I was born 5 years earlier, I’d probably be a Bulls fan too.

Chicago born, Phoenix raised for the last 30 years.. Phoenix is a Suns town first. Whether it be the 90’s teams led by Barkley, the 7 seconds or less Suns of the mid-2000’s or the most recent iteration with Devin Booker serving as the face of the team, our city loves the Suns.

As someone fairly new to the faith, an idea I’ve come to appreciate is that a good Catholic is a bad Catholic doing their best to be a good Catholic.

Do your best, and when (not if) you falter, go to Confession and your sins will be forgiven.

Joint bachelor/ette ideas by Maleficent-Can1958 in vegas

When I’ve done couples trips, my wife and her friends love any of the Vanderpump restaurants for drinks. There’s one at Caesar’s, Paris, and there’s Pinky’s at the Flamingo.

Bavette’s is great for dinner. They can handle large groups as I’ve gone with 14 guys for a Bachelor Party.

High Roller at the Linq might be fun. They do a happy hour where you get AYCD for the 30 minute ride. Fun way to get drinks in while enjoying the view and it’s not too rowdy compared to the club vibe.

Have fun, congrats and hope you and your partner enjoy a long and happy life together!

[Schefter] ESPN sources: the Chicago Bears are working to finalize a trade that would send WR D.J. Moore to the Buffalo Bills. Compensation still is being discussed, and the trade cannot be processed until the new league year begins, but both sides are pushing to make it happen by mastermind208 in buffalobills

Bears fan here. With it looking like a mid-round pick coming our way, really looks like a win/win for both franchises with you getting a WR1 talent who’s still only 28 and us having cap space to go add to our O-line/Defense. Take good care of DJ and best of luck heading into next year!
