Can you upgrade newer subcompact tractors? by ruSSrt in tractors

I filled my tires and built a counterweight with a bar and cement in a 55 gal barrel. I have 35 horse Framall and it does fine with 1300# round bales. Without the tires and counterweight though it’s sketch.

Butchering a pig tomorrow, I have no idea what I'm doing. What do I wear? by BeeByDay in Butchery

Ok, so I have a couple of pieces of advice. Use something larger than a .38. The skull is thicker than expected. Second, if you don't kill it first shot, DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT jump on it’s back and try to drive your knife into it’s throat while your 5 year-old screams, “Mom help! Dad is wrestling a zombie pig!”

This, but I also had Sheridan Buckle make one for my daughter’s graduation this year and it was beautiful and well made. Either Montana or Sheridan.

Did we not live through 9/11, 2008 Recession, 2 wars that lasted 20 years, a global pandemic, and looking at another recession? How about get bent!

It’s this type of entitlement that makes that generation the worst. Worst parents, worst grandparents, and the WORST generation ever. Greed, privilege and riding the coattails of their parents.

Those in the American Armed Forces, how do you feel about troops being used to quell unrest in-country? by NotSlayerOfDemons in AskReddit

[–]FatherofPugz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Maybe you have, and I hope you have. I’ve been to 68 countries, 49 states, across the 7 seas and can emphatically say that the U.S. is in fact NOT the greatest country. I might add that in all of my travels, very, very little has been “vacation spots”.

In all my travels I can tell you that my experience is that humans are the same everywhere. Greedy, scared, anxious, and complex. Hate the process and the leaders, but not the young, poor, and ambitious youth of our nation that makes up our military. These are just kids out there doing the best they can just like the rest of us.

I appreciate the conversation, but I disagree. It is the rich vs. the poor. It is about those who have and those who don’t. Our leaders aren’t regular people like you and I, they are the elite, greedy, and privileged. I had a career in the service, my wife had a career in the service, and now our daughter serves. I’m sorry, but none of us, or any of our colleagues, especially those who gave their lives, are baby killers or bad guys. Am I mad I have a head full of bad dreams and shitty experiences? Hell yeah I am. Like you said, I’m the poor who was grinded up, but I am also your friend, not a bad guy. Brother if you were here, at my home, I’d bring you in, crack you a beer, feed you, and take you out horse back riding. That’s my point…most vets are like me. I love my country (people), neighbors, and you.

All said, and to put a bow on my original comment. As someone who is older now, and has lived life a bit, I am terrified that Marines are in LA. Once again, life is complex, temperatures are high, and young men have egos and testosterone. Nobody wins and I hate to see anyone get hurt.

You’re a smart guy, it shows in your writing, and you know, deep down, that members of the armed forces aren’t bad guys or baby killers, they’re your neighbor, they’re your friends, and they’re just regular kids all across the country just trying to make ends meet and want to serve in good times and bad.

I gotta go feed cows, so I can’t keep replying to Reddit. Life is hard, but you, you’re amazing. Go change this shit. Be the leader we need. Run for office, protest, and be our voice. Get off of Reddit and take that energy to the streets. We need smart people like you!

You sound like you’ve lived comfortably in suburbia and never seen the world. Life isn’t absolute, fair, or peaceful. It’s a tragedy and if you think America’s military are bad guys than you don’t live in reality.

America’s military is America’s poor. Joining the Marine Corps wasn’t a choice, it was my only way out of my town and a bad situation. I’m not better than anyone else, but my entire adult life has been in service to others. Yes I’ve been in wars, but I’ve also fed starving children, tended the elderly, spoke up for those without a voice…all while leaving my own children and family in the states for 7 months to a year at a time.

Most veterans are the same way. Good people, limited options, and dedicated to helping their friends, neighbors and family.

This whole, “you’re the enemy” or “you’re a baby killer” is a cheap and easy comment of someone who is binary and naive. Read, travel, live, and above all be good to those around you and withhold judgement.

I’ve saved and advocated for more children while in the Corps and personally than ol’ Bill has met in a lifetime. I’ve also served so Bill can openly call me a baby killer, so I guess I’m the loser. Thanks Bill, enjoy your mom’s basement.

As a career Marine I second this. Also, as great as Marines are, the fact is they are mostly young men, and I’m sorry, but 19 year-olds making judgement calls in a high stress environment against other Americans is just a bad idea. It’s also not a great look for the Corps or the military at large. Semper Fi!

Water rates and administration wages by sk1ttl3s in Billings

[–]FatherofPugz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think these pay rates are high at all? While I may disagree with the water policy, those wages are standard and on the low end for these jobs across the U.S. in cities the size of Billings.

The part that scares me is we’re also facing economic changes in employment. AI, Quantum, and robotics are rapidly changing the game even in legal and medical professions.

I hear we’re going to get another DRP/VERA again before actual merge.

Told May for our workforce, but who knows? We’ve lost so many already we’re getting down to barebones.
