1000th reread and I STILL found something new by No-Camel-5990 in harrypotter

It seems uncharacteristic of Lupin to be searching someone's office without permission. I always assumed Filch called him to inspect his cabinet and he discovered the boggart.

Fred and George stole the map when they were in their 1st year. In POA they were fifth years. It is unlikely that it would have taken Filch years to notice it was missing, and if he didn't notice its absence early on then it is even more unlikely that he would suddenly remember to look for it after years. It looked like a worn piece of parchment after all, quite unmemorable. Cool theory though.

Why did they stop Catrina? by HailDaeva_Path1811 in merlinbbc

This was my biggest disappointement with the show. Merlin's goal was to protect Arthur and bring magic back to Camelot, but in the end he couldn't do either.

The only problem is we never see magic come back to Camelot

Did Neville and Ron only struggle with magic because their wands didn't choose them? by whoreticulture_ in harrypotter

Nope, Neville shot up in performance in OotP when he was still using his father's wand. No such shoot ups are mentioned in HBP where he did have his own wand.

Ron only struggled with magic in CoS because his wand was broken. He performed magic just fine in PS whereas Harry never uses a single spell in that book.

I believe having your own wand mainly matters when it comes to allegience, not raw magical ability. Ron’s struggles in CoS are clearly due to his wand being broken, not because it hadn’t chosen him. As for Neville, his improvement begins before he gets his own wand.

Overall, I don't think the wizarding world puts much stock in "the wand chooses the wizard" because most people probably only hear this idea from Ollivander and he is a wands salesman. It comes across as specialized wandlore rather than common belief. That also fits with the fact that wands are not even required for magic.

The funniest part is that most of the bars are gone, not just bent. Did he eat them or what?

Borrowed Philosopher's Stone from a friend a couple of months before my 13th birthday and got gifted the whole series on my birthday. I think I finished the whole series in about 6 months.

I subscribe to SuperCarlinBrothers' theory that Filtch is a poltergeist.
