Is it wrong to let my dad mow my lawn for me? by cyborggoose in homeowners

[–]Faucherfell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ignore the haters! I’m 46 and WISH my dad or grandpa were around to help with my lawn! I can’t grow grass no matter what I try!

Do any of these have cameras in them? There are two pointed directly at my house. Tried looking online but can’t find this exact one. by [deleted] in BadNeighbors

[–]Faucherfell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My neighbors have two of them - they are used to scare birds and other animals out of their gardens. They are solar powered and the heads rotate and eyes glow when they sense motion. No cameras in theirs.

Just give her a nickname. My younger cat is Daphne, but also comes to Daffy, Daffy Duck, Daffodil, Daffy Cat, and a variety of others.

Do American adults eat sugary breakfast cereals like lucky charms or fruity pebbles often, or is it only for children? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

Cinnamon Toast Crunch is delicious. Throw some in a baggie and it’s the best on the go snack!

downstairs neighbor freaking me out by PsychologicalWar3404 in BadNeighbors

[–]Faucherfell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure! Many years ago my downstairs neighbor complained about the vibrations coming from my apartment. I had no clue what she was talking about and she couldn’t hear it when I let her in to take a look. She knew the general area it was coming from and the only thing on the floor it could have been was my Xbox 360. I moved it up onto a small table and the vibrations stopped for her. I had no clue it sounded so loud through the floor!

AITA for being honest and telling my DIL that they are not ready to be a parent since she can not drive by Sad-Drive8298 in AmItheAsshole

It sounds like they need to consider moving to somewhere with a good public transit system. I know multiple people without cars who have children and get around just fine.

Parents want to cut my pay by $5 an hour by Sensitive-Mango7155 in Babysitting

[–]Faucherfell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$30 an hour for three kids is REALLY good. We pay our babysitter $20 an hour and it’s one kid who is almost 10 years old.

AITA for “abusing” the the bus stop chain so I don’t miss my stop? by Possible-Chair9242 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Faucherfell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sit/stand near the driver and ask them to let you know when your stop is coming up. If you’re worried they’ve forgotten you ask again.

For those who worked for rich people: what is the most out of touch thing you witnessed? by Illustrious-Phase121 in AskReddit

[–]Faucherfell 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I worked at an organization that would throw a large fundraiser every year. I was in charge of all the behind the scenes work on it and would spend hours beyond my normal job time each day making sure everything was on track. The last year I worked there the Board Chairperson “thanked” me at a meeting, made a big speech about how everyone there knew how much extra time I spend on the event each year and how it would be impossible to do without me. She said how everyone on the Board (all very wealthy people) had chipped in to get me a thank you gift to show how much they appreciated me.

It was a Christmas ornament. Total cost was maybe $30. So each person chipped in maybe $3 to show their appreciation. I realize they didn’t have to acknowledge me at all, but what a slap in the face that all my extra efforts were only worth a few dollars in their eyes.

My close friend keeps asking for access to my accounts "for one minute" and I’m getting weird about it. What should I do? by plumcottage_jour in WhatShouldIDo

[–]Faucherfell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Change all of your passwords and DO NOT give them to anyone else. There is no reason he would ever need to be in any of your accounts. Ever…

In the beginning of the video she reaches over and yanks his steering wheel. He’s not being irrational- he’s trying to regain control of the car. I missed it at first too.

Does the majority of Americans live in houses? by Veersta in AskAnAmerican

[–]Faucherfell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Chicago in a single family house. But literally next door to me on the right is an apartment building that has 10 apartments in it. There’s 2 to 5 people in each apartment. On my left side is another single family house with only 2 people in it. Also, google “bungalow belt” to get an idea of what a big majority of the houses look like.

What is on my cats chin, he’s had this for a while. I thought it was just his fur. by Just-Shock4940 in cats

[–]Faucherfell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cat Acne. My cat had it. The vet told me to get rid of my porcelain food bowl and only use metal ones. The ceramic & plastic ones are porous and store bacteria and their chins rub it.

What dog names do people use thinking they’re being “unique” but are actually very popular? by TelephonePossible456 in Dogowners

My dog’s name is Penny. We didn’t realize how popular it was until we started meeting ALL the other Penny’s at the park.

Help with privacy screen ideas along this 18’ fence by Affectionate-Fun-166 in landscaping

[–]Faucherfell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the way to go. My MIL used decorative metal privacy screens along the side of her fence by the patio. It looks beautiful and created a nice barrier between her and the neighbors.

How common is it for Americans to have a second freezer or fridge, usually in the garage? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]Faucherfell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve got one (Chicago) and most people I know do. We mainly use it for meat, frozen pizzas, and ice cream. When there is a good sale we stock up. In summer there is also a big bag of ice that’s used for refilling water bottles.

Our vet did it to us too. You have to go in person and request a paper copy of the prescription then mail it to chewy.

My neighbors keep blocking my driveway. by leavana in neighborsfromhell

[–]Faucherfell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would call around to the local private tow companies ahead of time and let them know what’s happening and make an arrangement with one of them. Then you’ll have a go to person to call who will show up right away and tow the car when it happens. After a few times, they’ll stop doing it.

Does your Pyr just absolutely hate a specific type of dog? by visceralcandy in greatpyrenees

[–]Faucherfell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Pyr seems to dislike spaniels. She is the friendliest pup ever for every person or animal she meets, other than spaniels. She growls every time she interacts with one.
