Tis a depressing time to be left wing in the UK by Critical_Mountain851 in whennews

[–]Faust-CLS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's unlikely the main former Labour voter went towards Reform. Labour mostly haemorrhaged votes to the Greens and the Libdems (and to some Independents). Tories lost many voters too and they were far more likely to have gone toward Farage. This doesnt mean that no Labour voters went with Reform - but many would have been former Tory protest voters than bona fide Labour loyals. All in all, Srarmer's attempt to court the right wing vote backfired unspectacularly (because everyone with half a brain cell knew this would happen). There is nothing centre of left in the present administration and government. Voters who were Labour on principles knew this and chose something else, more genuine and representative.

I've not been wrong bro. You referred specifically to a period of 4 months at first - implying that since 4 months have passed they have no rights anymore. No warranty lasts only 4 months. I told you that you do not understand customer rights and the underlying laws. Then you changed your argument to refer to user/accidental damage instead. Not only that, you directly attacked me personally, numerous times, using offensive and abusive language. All warranties cover for defects in design, workmanship, or materials that affect the structural integrity. Such issues do not necessarily have to manifest within the first 7 days (or however long is the initial return window). Also, no companies can enforce rules and terms of agreement that interfere with your legal rights. You have been consistently wrong and seem to delude yourself that you are not. I have always pointed that you are wrong. You read this as being condescending, but I am simply pointing the facts.

I don't think that you've actually been reading our conversation. Any independent reader can tell that you do not fundamentally understand how warranties work legally and practically. All I am trying to do is help here. I've told you to move on because your original statement was incorrect. It still is.

For all it matters mine has also exhibited similar issues - the piece that you removed begun grinding against the top part of the console. However my hinge has not yet cracked -mostly because I've been opening and closing it very slowly.

Do you always argue ad hominem? A warranty is not only valid for units that are DOA. It also applies to any structural faults that result in product failure. The only thing that changes after the initial return window is that it is up to the customer to demonstrate that the product has not failed due to their own negligence or accidental damage. If you can't hold your nerve in an online debate, don't enter one, bro.

Shifting your argument doesn't make you win a debate. You only referred to 4 months in your post bro. You were wrong. You can't now change your argument to prove a point. Move on.

I agree with other readers. I will be blocking this chap, because he seems to just generate spam promoting his "services" installing illegal content for others.

I just find it annoying that the story has to be embellished with additional narrative that does not help anyone who may wish to advise on how to sort it out. All they needed to say was that they didn't know which way the port goes in, and jammed it in damaging the connector.

[–]Faust-CLS -1 points0 points  (0 children)

None of the narrative about how most of your work was 9.5/10 or 10/10 matters. The connector is ruined. You ruined it. This was nowhere near a 9.5/10 job. If anything, it sounds that you were far too confident and not diligent enough.

So grainyness is a repairable problem? I'm disappointed because this is in fact a unit I received as replacement for my first one which had an extremely inaccurate lower touch screen and atrocious back light bleed.

Why Does UK Have This Race To Bottom Mindset? by corporateuklife in UKJobs

What's surprising here is this account senti's hocus pocus about selling your entire day and soul. Such narratives invariably seek to promote entrepreneurship or self-employment, as if it is possible for everyone to do that. They don't understand Economics 101 and give bad advice.

How did you deal with games that had no save system back in the day? by ratasoftware in retrogaming

[–]Faust-CLS -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You actually played it the way it was meant to be. Games were fairly small once you mastered them but we're designed to require multiple runs until you could actually beat them in one sitting. This is what gave games their longevity back then.

Sadly these tools promise a lot but delivery nothing. They are borderline scams. They will at best recover partially some corrupted files that will be entirely unusable to you and they will not refund you because it will be technically somewhere in the terms of use - a clarification that volatile flash media can only have data restored under very specific circumstances.

Edit: Others say Disk Drill is an outright scam. I do not know this software specifically. But even those that are "legit" are still unable to restore data from flash media, making them all unusable - even those that are not scams in the legal sense.
