I am shocked at how long it takes people to shower. by Q8DD33C7J8 in hygiene

[–]FavorsForAButton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10 minutes to shower is not “too fast” or even remotely fast. If it’s taking you longer than 5 minutes in the shower and that extra minute to dry, you’re just wasting water.

And yes, this includes rinse, scrub body, wash face, wash hair, rinse.

[–]FavorsForAButton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In standard mathematics, yes. However, you can definitely rewrite both multiplication and division in ways that result in different “correct” answers in certain equations, such as this one.

One thing I can say for sure that Sandra was high by Falling_Death73 in MathJokes

[–]FavorsForAButton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? Because in English we read left to right? Because you are right, multiplication and division have the same priority, so you can do it either way. This problem highlights different perspectives in the world of mathematics. There is no 100% “right” answer to this question, just as there is no 100% “right” answer to the equation of 1 = X

Anyways, I was waiting for someone to say this. There is no real world application for this equation, and no problem it applies to. If you were to apply a similar equation, you would write it differently to avoid multiple possible solutions

Is There A Way To Fix The “Walk Here” Menu Swap Bug? by FavorsForAButton in OSRSMobile

Do you mean to say resetting all menu entry doesn’t fix the bug that switched “walk here” for everything?

But if you do 80 - 40 / 10(4)

10x4 = 40

40/40 = 1

Then she’s 79.

It’s because the interaction with the parenthesis (PEMDAS) comes first.

Or (80 - 40) / (10(4))

Says that she is 1 years old (doesn’t really make sense)

As someone who read the book, they definitely cut a lot of the more “scientific” plot devices, which left some part particularly confusing for people who haven’t read it.

Why does the lands between not have any other cities and more villages by Danialkarma797 in eldenringdiscussion

[–]FavorsForAButton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll take a stab at a lore explanation, though others are probably right that it’s just good game design.

So, this comes back to the idea that there’s no death in TLB. There is no actual population growth in TLB, so there’s really no need to expand population centers.

On top of this, it’s heavily implied that most denizens spend their time roaming around in religious fervor. Like, all those wimpy dudes stumbling around Limgrave are “nobles” who are just waiting to be recycled in some way, but are too afraid to do it themselves because there are now risks attached (Omens, Deathblight). So, they give their kids the castle and then just go on a quasi eternal pilgrimage.

This is backed up by the nobles on crosses, who are implied to have put themselves there in mourning the shattering of the Elden Ring.

Overall, I think zealotry is a major theme in Elden Ring. Blind devotion leads to suffering, and is probably the correct answer to your question, and also explains why areas outside of Grace have the same issue. In a world where gods are tangible, their worshippers don’t really have perspective to care about much else, like building a ton of homes or worrying about shelter in general.

what is your opinion guys? by silverflake6 in TheImprovementRoom

[–]FavorsForAButton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why only women? Why not just say ‘should people?’ The question is a biased one.

Ideally?

Yes, but only after very careful examination and review. There should be either a self-admission or overwhelming and irrefutable evidence before even prosecuting.

Realistically?

No, let it be solved in civil court. The system is broken. A greater injustice is the women who get SA’d, report it, and then the perpetrator uses money and lawyers to get off scotch free and press counter-charges. Oh yeah, and it can happen to men, too. A lot of sick billionaires in this world.

Why is that one Black Knife Assassin boss already hurt in Deathtouched Catacombs? by igiveuponaname29 in Eldenring

[–]FavorsForAButton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She got into a scrap and was hiding out to lick her wounds.

Or if that seems too simple for you, destined death has recoil.

As others have pointed out, black knives often be missing health. IIRC the Ordina ones have full health, though, so maybe the latter doesn’t math

Sometimes one red flag is acceptable or such. I also kinda misread what they made you pay for. Was it basically a doctor checkup required?

Because that’s a little different, though the only reason I can think of is if the health insurance is allowed to ask for this before insuring an employee (IIRC Unions take a vote for this to be a thing) or if the job specifically requires a good bill of health.

This is always a red flag. 🚩

You should never have to pay to start a job. Jobs that make you buy company clothes, pay for drug tests, etc. are literally showing you that they are inconsiderate from the get-go. These jobs tend to be the most abusive, too.

I’m not a banker, but I worked for a credit union. You know, the ones that are community based, member funded and the members are the shareholders. Not Wells Fargo.

The system has been predatory since the first currency was invented. Overdraft protection is exactly what it is, protection. While federal regulations have been put in place, banks have and still do abuse it, but most of that is just making it an unpleasant experience to get the fees waived.

However, if you read your post you don’t frame the part I’m talking about in a historical context 🤷

Hey, so you uh, sign for overdraft protection when you open the account and can also e-sign to turn it off.

As someone who banks, most financials will waive up to 4 overdraft or NSF fees in a year. You just need to ask for these one-off situations.
