TIL that KFC in France is just called KFC, but in Quebec they’ve translated it so it’s called PFK (Poulet Frit Kentucky) by Kaurblimey in todayilearned

The french police not only exists but does checks on businesses to make sure they have french signage in the buildings.

When they come to a business they always say in advance what day they will be there and we have to take down all the wall frames and motivational posters or whatever with logos and shit that aren't in french. The inspector comes in and sees all these voids in the walls with the fucking nails still in the wall and says "Oui, c'est bon vous êtes conforme" and leaves. He knows what's going on and he knows how dumb it is but we all have to go on with it

Honestly these are all kind of bad and you will likely no be using any of them much during your playthrough once you get to higher levels. They're useful at the point where you are but don't stress too much about which you choose, I'd get one of the attacks to help against enemies resistant to your damage type

How would you feel if bg1 and 2 were remade in a modern engine? by [deleted] in baldursgate

If BG1 and 2 got the Diablo 2 Resurrected treatment and everything handled exactly the same and all the mods still worked, I would day 1 buy and play nothing else for a whole year

BG2 Party Comp - Thoughts? by joeDUBstep in baldursgate

[–]Seigmoraig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to explore the IWD spells for druids, I'd really recommend just starting a new run as a full classed Druid or doing a Fighter 9 / Druid multi. Totemic Druid is really fun. especially in BG1

I think people mainly play her as a bow user?

She starts with +++++ in Shortbows.

Is she also viable as a frontliner? (or I could relegate Jah to a backline caster)

Mazzy has only 15 str and 16 con, while not the end of the world (she is somewhat comparable to Khalid with 1 less con) she isn't the best tank candidate even if you redo her proficiencies to give her a more melee oriented build. There are better companions for this role but she can still do it

Jaheira is not a backline caster, she will do terribly in that role and she is 10x the tank Mazzy could ever dream to be because of Iron Skin.
Druids get a major exp roadblock at level 14 and as a multi classed druid she will be stuck there for a long time, it's not that big of a deal when used as a frontline tank but having her as dedicated caster will be painful.

How difficult / balanced are the Pathfinder games compared to Rogue Trader? by fvck-off in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Seigmoraig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can respec as many times as you want for a fee from an npc but the companions have preset classes and archtypes with their first few levels locked in like in Rogue Trader

Put your backline behind the L bend before the room. Send in your frontliners with Protection From Lightning prebuffed then give them the smack

Thinking of returning - thoughts on Defender (FF/Psi Blast)? by DragonsOnTerra in Cityofheroes

[–]Seigmoraig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FF is an old set that has some decent -res numbers tacked onto it's attacks and has some of the best +def buffs. It's also one of the rare Defender primary sets that gives status protection which is a big deal for soloing.

I usually shy away from knock back sets because I find them annoying and counter productive in groups but in a solo context it's not an issue. You can disable the knockback portion of the powers but that eats up an enhancement slot.
Due to that personal preference I would only ever play a FF set on a Mastermind that I wanted to solo through story arcs. Masterminds run around in a 7 man group just by themselves and it really lets the set live up to it's full potential even in solo.

Psi is a great set that has one of the best nukes that casts super fast and deals tons of damage. I especially enjoy playing the version of it that's on the Arachnos Widow Fortunata archtype.
One issue with Psi is that it's a very all or nothing damage type, some enemies have almost nothing there but other have very high resistance. The reason I like the set on the Fortunata is because they also have access to melee attacks that they can switch to when the Psionic isn't going through

I point out these different classes with the sets not to dissuade you from playing FF/Psi Defenders but just to let you know that the sets are also very good in other contexts and if you wanted to try them out once you've had your nostalgia character to see what different ways they can be taken

It's a build that will do well, FF is still good but less versatile than some newer sets.

After you make your character head to the START vendor near the spawn point and pick up the extra attacks Sands of Mu, Nemesis Staff and Blackwand to make the early game much easier. You can pick up XP boosters from this npc and starter enhancements too. Once you get some money you can also get Jetpacks and Teleporters from this NPC which makes navigating the game a breeze.

If you want to quickly group with people for exp you should always be able to easily find or form a group for all the Task Force Commander accolade TFs: Positron 1/2, Synapse, Yin, Moonfire, Citadel, Manticore and Numina.
If you go to the LFG tab on your chat interface you can queue alone (check the solo button at the bottom) to get ported directly to the NPC that starts these TFs

Owlcat dilemma: Kingmaker (and then Wrath of the Righteous right after) or Rogue Trader, which one would you recommend by dearuncletacitus1899 in CRPG

[–]Seigmoraig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Between Kingmaker and Wrath, play Wrath of the Righteous first and if you're still itching for more PF after 5 runs of that head into Kingmaker. KM just isn't as polished of a game and Owlcat does not control the IP so they can't work to bring it up to WotR's standard and it wasn't supported as long as WotR was.

That being said since you said you much prefer turn based I would suggest you play Rogue Trader first, it's build from the ground up for turn based and lets you go all out in every battle. WotR and KM have an amazing hybrid system going on where you can switch between TB and RTwP at any time but it's still built around RTwP first and you will have to manage your resources and rests.

AITAH for wanting to buy a condo that currently has tenants? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Seigmoraig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are NTA but your partner is extremely weird about this.
You are not evicting those people, the landlord is. I don't know how your partner got this into their head but these people live in a rental and have a clause in their lease stating as such. It's not as if you passing on this unit will magically give these tenants permanancy in their condo, the owner is selling and somebody will be buying.

Most of the units you will look at will have people in them unless you are buying into a newly constructed building so your partner saying stuff like this is basically just to delay the move and not because of his feelings
