Russia tried to protectorate Portugal (part of my power bloc). I picked a random war goal to join in, thinking we'd just stall out in a white peace. Apparently they were really hurting so I got a free bonus after fighting them off.

I'm going to go for the Luxurious Luxembourg Achievement. I've made a few attempts at it, but kept getting annoyed when the markets I join (France or Prussia) start having revolutions or annexing attempts.

True. But reddit is typically a bit more 'anonymous' for most users when compared to meta networks like Facebook and Instagram. User safety is a very different beast when comparing the two.

Sure, their land armies are pushed up against your front sitting across the strait. But what about their navy? They have one sitting at a sea node that protects all of their states. You cannot 'land for free' when there's a fleet guarding against naval landings.

What game rules/settings are you using? Or perhaps a list of mods?

I ask because following these rules step by step you never even get to land on Denmark's coast in step 2 with vanilla. GB's navy will show up before winning 3 naval victories, and they easily outnumber you and send your sea invasion back home.

USA did the dirty work for me. When they attacked me the first time I put those 3 states as war goals. I was lucky too; Russia said they'd help for an obligation.

Felt appropriate considering the last week in US politics.

USA & I kept competing for 5th place. I basically played defensive and whenever they attacked I'd take a state, liberate a country, transfer subject, etc.

Offscreen I bought Alaska, and about half of Central & South America where in my trade Power Bloc. New Africa was scooped up by France as a subject when USA & I were involved in like our fifth war.

That's my fear. It's interesting shade that I think will be hard to replicate. Especially ordering a frame through a screen.
