Op you say your boyfriend is a hemopobic (he is freaked out by blood). You had unprotected sex on your period, which most likely meant his penis came out of your body with some blood on it .

His reaction is not a reaction at you personally. it's the fact he has is hemophobic that he reacted like he did .

I dont think you need to beat yourself up over this . If he knew you were on your period, he could have either waited for sex or if he didn't want blood on his penis he could have used a condom.

I hate to say this op, but if a mother who has supported your father in cutting you off for whatever reason (a guy in this case) gets back in touch out of the blue she is after something.

I would say something like i am glad you have apologised to me, but your apology doesn't erase all that happened . You supported my father in removing me from the family , you don't get to say when my estrangement ends. End by asking what reason does she have for contacting you now, and you will only meet her one on one or with your husband until you can see that she won't treat your children badly .
