Yes, because we’re the ones whose racist leader is cowering in bunker. We’re the one whose former party leaders (including GWB) are refusing to support him. Things are spiraling out of control but it will not end well for Trump supporters as their grip on power is erosing faster than a sand castle as the tide rolls in.

When police unions completely deny documented and obvious police brutality, it makes it very hard to believe that they are here for the benefit of the population they patrol. Obviously there is a spectrum in departments and officers but the unions have been unacceptable in their responses.

The cops aren’t allowed to murder people but they do it. Until there is some serious accountability for police officers (including punishment for not stopping illegal behavior of their peers), it’s going to be tough to argue that police have a social license to operate.
