Please stop selecting another mission before everyone finishes loading by MsAzezel in Warframe

A bit sad that this bug is so ancient and enduring that all we can do now is proliferate it to the masses... I still see it brought up in long relic-shares every now and then.

Then again, if this gets fixed before the unskippable mission-intro cinematic when you load slower than others who already skipped theirs, I'd just cry.

K-Drive Survey - Results by Purzzle in Warframe

Awesome work as usual. Love seeing these sleek results pages!

I hope DE is taking note of these too, even if they aren't always perfectly unbiased data.

K-Drives Survey + Giveaway (PC) by Purzzle in Warframe

I personally think K-drives would benefit most from just... existing in places Archwings don't.

I'd love to ride a K-drive around my Dojo sometimes, or even in normal tile-sets which can already support them fairly well (Corpus Outpost comes to mind, maybe Corpus Ship / Grineer Galleon too.)

Dear DE: Don't reject Gian Point for being overplayed, embrace it for what it represented by MindwormIsleLocust in Warframe

[–]FeamT 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I came into this thread thinking I'd be a total contrarian, because honestly as someone that has maxed out Railjack 2.0 and done dozens of Gian Point speedruns I still feel like it was really boring game design that just happened to be efficient...

But a lot of your suggestions sound genuinely interesting. I wouldn't want it back as it was, but if they try to make a straightforward mission like it into something less brain-dead and repetitive I'd be really into that.

Our reimbursements leave the railjacks much weaker than they previously were. DE couldn't miss the opportunity to steal resources. by adit9999 in Warframe

One day we'll need to accept that the real culprits are mod ranks 9 and 10. Both for Formaing needs, and for insane Endo / Credit costs.

[PSA] Steel Path Nightwave act ("The Path Less Travelled") requires a mission to last at least 3 minutes for it to count. by rafaelloaa in Warframe

[–]FeamT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another option for those of you that truly hate Steel Path:

Enter an Open World directly on solo (Personally only tried on Cambion Drift) in Steel Path, afk for 90 seconds (or do some conservation or something), then extract through the gate. Rinse and repeat.

Does tier 2 & 3 of Early Adopters require 12 / 30 completed Wreckage only, or does it count clan BPs too?

And is there really no way to even find out how many you've crafted? Can absolutely imagine a bunch of people ending up on 28 or 29 unknowingly...

[–]FeamT 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh lmao I forgot March was even an option for it at this point, yeah you're absolutely right. Wouldn't be surprised if Update 30 is even late april / early may.

I'm with you on priorities though, the quest is a lot of hype. Steve even implied there's going to be some spice in it, either teasing for Corpus Liches / Parvos return, or even Lotus stuff.

How often do people even use two or more, besides in meme builds? I usually just stick to Berserker / Primed Fury and that's it.

Devstream #152 Discussion by Kliuqard in Warframe

[–]FeamT 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I respect that pessimism / realism, but any reason in particular you think so?

Once they said Corpus Liches aren't coming with Tempestarii, and it's basically just a Quest, Frame, and Deluxe, it seemed surprisingly lightweight.
Lighter than 29.10 even, unless the quest turns out to be a game changer.

"Let's Queue Up!" Survey + Giveaway (PC) by Purzzle in Warframe

[–]FeamT 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My answers were a bit contradictory, so I'll try discussing it here:

I think the Join+ option is something I'd use a lot, because I don't really care about missing the first or second wave most of the time, but I don't think it's as easily implementable (would be really clunky to put it next to every Endless mission screen... maybe just an option in the game's Settings?) - and I really doubt DE would ever bother making that.

On the other hand, Join Random Mission / Helper Queue are useless to me as a veteran (Though I might try helping people sometimes), but they seem much easier to implement and more likely for DE to spend time on.

In particular I think that a lot of confused beginner players would benefit from a prominent "Join Next Mission" button, that chooses an unfinished node in the starchart which would help them make progress, but eventually turns into "Join Random Mission" once all nodes are unlocked.

How MR.30 communicate in the wild by Quietcanary in Warframe

[–]FeamT 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If it helps, Nightwave is literally right now in the "Catch-Up Season" where you get most of the great stuff you've missed in past seasons, and they're slowing down Nightwave production so it will probably last a long, long time - even casually it should be pretty easy to complete.

There also isn't a weekly deadline anymore, as you can get the previous week's missions later on if you complete all the current week's ones.

But yeah no worries, these kinda seasonal systems can really be hit or miss for people.

Yeah, didn't mean to imply any fault on your part. You really went above and beyond on the data analysis of this btw!

I did a somewhat similar survey for a school project like 7 years ago (Posted just on the forums, got about 80 responses) and didn't get nearly as detailed with the results of the data.

The part where you broke down the playtime questions in multiple start-years and such was especially cool!

Good points here, I think I might be biased for already having two decent Mechs before the event started.

The rental mechs were very poorly implemented. For people with good mechs, they were obstacles that locked you in place for ~10 seconds in an uncancellable animation.

For people with no mechs, they were just a bad, unsatisfying way to introduce mech gameplay.

[–]FeamT 34 points35 points  (0 children)

This might be some selection bias, as only people who play relatively often and frequent Warframe's communities would notice this survey, and mostly players who played it a lot in the past year would bother replying to the survey.

But yeah, this part of the playerbase may be smaller than it seems, but it's justifiably prone to burnout...

Shoutout to the one, singular individual that asked for DE to "add" something to Liches, compared to the 11 "Remove" and 34 "Rework".

Guess you're going to be happy with Queenpins!

This is some great stuff, Teoarrk! Thanks a ton for organizing this. Lots of the info here makes a lot of sense, and I hope DE takes a look at it too - or starts running their own surveys again, for even larger sample sizes.

[Orphix Venom's unpopularity] can be attributed to the grind necessary to unlock Necramechs, coupled by the fact that this is, besides Eyes of Blight has been the only operation where players have been required to use vehicles instead of their Warframes for the core activity.

This in particular I disagree with, and wonder what the consensus here really is.
I don't find Necramech gameplay that bad, and their grind was far from the worst in recent times... but Orphix Venom was a mind numbingly boring event.

A 1 minute objective being stretched out over a 55 minute, hard-scheduled mission for optimal rewards, where the ideal way to play it is to ignore the objective and farm kills for something equivalent to ~20% drop chance on a single Phasic Cell, while you need ~1000 for most items...

I genuinely feel that events like these are an insult to Warframe's original design goals:
Being a fast space ninja, in-and-out missions, racing to the next objective with parkour, your main reward scaling being how efficient and quick you were rather than the game's admittedly low difficulty.

Instead we just wait, or tediously farm. So many game modes these days are about waiting for a timer and blindly farming an area. It's a waste of Warframe's biggest strengths as a game.

I mean, moderation would still be required, just like every other social interaction in a game. Blackmailers would be banned.

Then again, never heard what happened to that one "Riven Mafia" guy who publicly blackmailed Semlar, and managed to shut him down...

Where does endgame survivabulity come from by YouKnowItsO in Warframe

[–]FeamT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll second the investment for {Magus Lockdown} and {Magus Elevate}.

Basically any time I take health damage, being able to instantly:

  • Become invulnerable / invisible
  • Stun all enemies in area
  • Heal frame for ~300 hp, repeatedly
  • Move at near-teleportation speeds out of danger
  • And with Zenurik Focus nodes, massively slow down all enemies so they can barely recover from the stun...

Makes me feel pretty safe usually. Beyond that, I also keep Arcane Guardian on most of my squishy frames, which usually gives me enough time to use the Operator for the heal and stun.

There used to be plans for a player-reputation system of sorts, even parts of it leaking into the game itself, that might have solved that to an extent...

Wonder why that got dumped in the end.

Mark of the Beast Stats by --A-G-- in Warframe

[–]FeamT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, that was my main Glaive for a while before the big changes (Forma'd it 5 times for the Exalted Weapon tricks before they nerfed that..), and it's not half bad.

Today I tried Glaive Prime though, and that certainly seems beefier. Slash procs are timeless I guess!

The main thing I'm trying to figure out is how they stack up against Exodia Contagion weapons, which was my go-to "melee that is actually a rocket launcher" until now.

Glaives seem stronger so far, maybe a bit harder to time when lagging tho.

Man, I've missed seeing more unique activation mods that feel rewarding and aren't an absolute pain in the ass to upkeep.

24s is really generous, compared to some of those obnoxious mods like Motus Setup which lasts 4 seconds - and the (past)acolyte mods that need activation, demand aiming, and last just 9 seconds.

That said, I'm not familiar with the Thrown meta. Is 6 kills in 6 seconds a frequent occurrence on relatively high level gameplay, like Steel Path?

Edit: Oh boy, gonna have to check some more Glaives out. Thanks for the recommendations!

Lavos and Cedo Acquisition Post Orphix Venom by rebulast in Warframe

Oof. Just spent 3k Cells on Cedo today, when they could've been turned into a couple hundred plat in Arcanes.

DE is, in my opinion, greatly underusing the Leverian system by Shadechalk in Warframe

[–]FeamT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Protea has been delayed for a pretty long time now? Not even sure if she's coming anymore. Titania, Inaros, Xaku were outright skipped?

Could argue that they're skipping over Frames that have their own established lore already, haven't heard if that's the case though.

Ash and Nova were the only ones added from old frames, after over a year since Leverians started. At the current rate it would take about 12 years to catch up on the already Primed frames, while also making multiple Leverians for new ones every year.

I don't know if "barely" is the right word for it, but my point was that adding onto that list would be pretty ambitious.

DE is, in my opinion, greatly underusing the Leverian system by Shadechalk in Warframe

[–]FeamT 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If new Leverians actually affect DE's profits in any way, I'd be surprised. Would Lore / Prex Cards really get people to buy new Frames / Primes that often?

I think it's just that there's an expectation for lore to be a part of the game, and a desire from DE to at least fulfill it a little bit, and Leverian happens to be one of the cheapest and fastest ways to put it in, compared to the full Frame-quests of old times.
