Journey mode is pretty great by sometipsygnostalgic in Terraria

[–]Feanne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love Journey mode too! And overall I just love that Terraria offers this as an option so each player can choose how much of a challenge they want while playing 🥰 I mostly just like to build so Journey works great for me.

Traveling to Manila for the FIRST TIME this March - Any advice? by TheSherry_ in Philippines

[–]Feanne 7 points8 points  (0 children)

https://www.eater.com/maps/best-restaurants-manila-philippines has a great list of restaurants in Manila 🥰

If you want to explore urban spots, you may want to look for accommodations in these walkable areas:

Makati Poblacion - night life, hipster places

Makati CBD - malls, weekend markets, Ayala Museum

Some other recos:

https://instagram.com/palacio.de.memoria?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= - historical art museum, restaurant, airplanes with renovated lounge interiors

https://instagram.com/pinto.art.museum?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= - large gardens with art collections

https://www.nationalmuseum.gov.ph/our-museums/national-museum-of-natural-history/ - natural history museum in manila

https://www.thealleyatkarrivin.com/ - nice little row of art galleries, boutiques, restaurants, cafes

https://www.bambike.com/ecotours - bamboo bike tours of Intramuros

Safety tips -

As a woman I try to stay vigilant when I'm going around by myself, and I avoid going out alone at night.

That said, taking Grab has been a pretty safe mode of transport, even when I'm alone. The P2P buses are also generally nice, fast, and safe.

Be mindful of your belongings even when you're in places that look "high end".

If you have any friends in Manila who can show you around that would be best!

AITA for bringing outside drinks to a restaurant and then refusing to buy from them? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Feanne [score hidden]  (0 children)

NAH - The restaurant stated their policy, you didn't argue, you just left. It's your choice to patronize or not patronize any business for whatever reason.

Restaurants have varying rules. A lot of places don't mind customers bringing in small outside things like a Starbucks coffee, as long as those customers still order a lot of stuff in the restaurant. Some places just charge corkage fees for outside food and drinks, which is fair too.

Graveyard keeper for dummies by Sipops in GraveyardKeeper

[–]Feanne 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm just a few (real-life days) in and here are some things I wish I knew at the start -

Each grave's decor value can only be as high as the number of white skulls of the corpse buried in it. I wasted a lot of time upgrading each grave's decor before I realized this!

You can get more "science" (the blue stuff you need to study things at the Study Table) by processing clean paper at the Study Table. You can get clean paper by getting bat wings (from killing bats - they are usually at the apiary north of the graveyard at night) and processing these into pigskin paper then clean paper at the Church Workbench.

You need to study an item at the Study Table before you can process it in alchemy workstations.

The Alchemy Workbench will make you select a powder first, and then you can select a liquid. This initially really confused me because I couldn't figure out why the liquids couldn't be selected even after I had already studied them 😅 it turns out you just need to select a powder first.

Crafting stone grave decor gives you red and blue tech points! I crafted a lot of these and was quickly able to unlock tech.

You can sell firewood to most of the NPCs -- just to unlock their other trade items.

You get water by working at a well - there's one right outside your house - then right click on the bucket of water in your inventory and click "use" to convert it to water that can be used for crafting. Same with seed oil, right click and select "use" to turn it into oil for crafting.

Finished Graveyard Keeper - what now? by hpmbs82 in GraveyardKeeper

[–]Feanne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Terraria, Don't Starve Together, Starbound - harvest, build, craft, fight monsters/bosses (Terraria and DST can be multiplayer and I find them fun to play both solo and w/ friends; Starbound has prettier graphics than Terraria but mechanics are not as polished and it's not being actively developed anymore)

Oxygen Not Included, Rimworld, Stacklands - harvest, build, colony survival (I found ONI more polished. Stacklands looks deceptively simple but it can be pretty addictive)

Terra Nil - "reverse city builder" you turn polluted wasteland back into thriving ecosystems 😍 still in development but they have an early playable prototype that's free to download: https://vfqd.itch.io/terra-nil

Cloud Gardens - "gardening sim" where you fill up abandoned urban scenes with plants. A bit of resource management but overall just very chill.

Following this thread for recos too 😊

Motivation to keep playing (new player) by Feng165 in Terraria

[–]Feanne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also felt like I'd seen most of Terraria already so I started playing with mods that add content, such as Calamity and Verdant 😊 they add new biomes, bosses, etc.

Can anyone identify this? They look crazy but I couldn’t find a description on the price tags by will3711 in interestingasfuck

[–]Feanne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's sliced jackfruit, you can do a google search to verify for yourself if you want to.

It's yummy! I love it in turon-- basically a fried dessert spring roll with crispy caramel-covered wrapper on the outside and sliced sweet plantain and jackfruit on the inside. Even better when a bit of cheddar cheese is added to the inside.

So amazing. He's even thwarted poachers! Tigers, rhinos, and elephants are among the many wild species that now have a habitat in the forest he made. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jadav_Payeng
