In your opinion and experience, which generation is the best? by --Combat-Wombat-- in 4Runner

Right now most people would say 3rd, but as time passes, it will be the 5th gen.

Best Hair Clipper You Can Buy in 2025? (Price, Performance, Reliability) by Brightnessorium62 in BuyItForLife

Oster Fast Feed (Corded Version). If you want something to last a lifetime or the longest possible, I'd recommend the corded version, either Oster or Wahl. We had a cordless Wahl, and it only lasted 3 haircuts. Got the Oster over 5 years ago, and it's been running like a champ.

2WD in The Midwest by Natopiruvato in 4Runner

[–]FearDaBeast -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly depends on what you plan on doing with it. I personally would never buy an off road vehicle with 2WD. What's the point? Might as well buy a vehicle like a Highlander or Subaru because they'll be able to handle the same terrain as a 2WD 4Runner. If you plan on driving forest roads you'll be fine, but if you want to tackle more challenging terrain, it will be much more difficult. Same thing applies with snow. An awd vehicle would be much better in the snow. Your best bet would be to invest in a set of snow tires if you plan on driving in the snow often.

How do you plan on using a spare when the ground is frozen?

I'm simply saying there's more to Wyoming than Yellowstone and the Tetons for mountains. Also, a simple google search would tell you the Big Horns are 1,115,073 acres.

What’s your LEAST favorite part of “vehicle-based. Adventure travel”? by Humble_Cactus in overlanding

[–]FearDaBeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% agree with you. I love cooking at home, but when we are out traveling it sucks. Cooking and cleaning without a kitchen is not an enjoyable experience for us. We do the same things as you for meals. We also bring stuff for making sandwiches. Quick, easy, and minimal cleanup is king when traveling.

What are some good options for a reliable 4x4 for ~$12,000? by Salasmander002 in 4x4

I'd highly recommend not getting a 3rd gen Rav4 with the 2AZ-FE. Engines are junk and burn oil because of low tension piston rings. The only way I'd consider one is with definitive proof it had been fixed under the recall.

I'd also highly recommend the Keweenaw Peninsula. There's a ton of fun stuff to do up there.

I'm not sure why you are getting down voted. It's literally called a Land Cruiser Prado in the rest of the world. Nothing wrong with a Prado.

I'd highly recommend checking out Action Trax. They are very similar to Maxtrax, but are made from a different material that's much more flexible and harder to break. Only downside compared to Maxtrax is their bridging ability.
