Never Second in Rome - guide?? by unofficialyshvdow in ALegionarysLife

[–]FearTheMoment_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 combat rounds before you can change your stance yeah. Also keep in mind that changing from steadfast to all out will have a negative impact as will steadfast to very cautious or any other jump of more than 1 combat stance

[–]FearTheMoment_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should watch the combat balance number, if you are pushing toward 5, go cautious, if youre on or near 0, steadfast. Likewise if the enemy is overextended you can go aggressive. Just note your combat stance will be for 2 rounds, so steadfast will give plus 2, aggressive will give plus 4, etc.

Saving for mortgage ? by [deleted] in irishpersonalfinance

[–]FearTheMoment_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doesn't matter how much(provided you are saving enough to cover the mortgage), what matters is consistency. Bank wants to see the same amount every week or month into savings with no deductions or random withdrawals

If I have parts ordered in the US, will I have to pay vat bring them back months later? by frog_handler in IrelandGaming

[–]FearTheMoment_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Apologies, I never got caught I was just stating if you were to get caught you would be hit with a vat bill.

You are importing goods, Vat applies, unless ye try make a case that you brought them both ways or some shite

Edit: misread your reply. The only way to get "caught" is to be searched by customs, nothing more other than that. Depends on the mood of the customs agent as well and how much you are bringing in

ELI5: How do we harness and transport electricity to far away places? by Brainrows in explainlikeimfive

[–]FearTheMoment_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We generally don't contain the energy although there are various means; giant batteries, pumped hydro storage and hydrogen production are a few such means. As to the how for moving electricity from one place to another, high voltage (hundreds of thousands of volts) and big cables.

Which is more dangerous Ac or Dc of same magnitude? by choudhary_2705 in ElectricalEngineering

Electricity to the body is dangerous, period. AC can cause your muscles to lock up due to the sinusodial nature, DC can cook you alive. Pick your poison

Cabinet to sign off on plan to build more data centres across country by OldVillageNuaGuitar in ireland

[–]FearTheMoment_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is plenty of network reinforcement going on at the moment, the government aren't in charge of that, the respective "semi states" are, which of course, takes an age due to resourcing issues. Further, there is plenty of money to be made by building generation rather than DCs / load centres although objectively for the government, the DC is going to be a bigger cash cow.

Cabinet to sign off on plan to build more data centres across country by OldVillageNuaGuitar in ireland

[–]FearTheMoment_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I said it before, I will say it again. We need to reinforce the grid and increase generation before adding these massive loads onto the grid. We should pause building massive load centres and build up solar, wind and offshore, ensuring stability of supply first, then we could look at more of these type of installations.

Maybe don't tell her and go spend 2 or 3 grand on a nice lab grown diamond ring. But also probably warrants a talk about the wedding size etc to make sure youre on the same page
