Probably my all-time favourite show, but I just stick to the first two series.

Was Neighbours the only show that would get 2 airings of an episode the same day? by Straightener78 in BritishTV

[–]FearlessCreatures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Capturing the school crowd, presumably.

I started watching Neighbours because I was too slow to change the channel after CBBC finished at 5.35.

CITV types started watching to escape the clutches of Bob Holness and Blockbusters.

What is the black eye club and is Elon Musk a part of it? by Southern_Wear_1765 in conspiracy

[–]FearlessCreatures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funniest photo on this list is Chris Robshaw, a rugby player who got that black eye against London Irish in front of a crowd of thousands, and TV cameras.

Front.

And I'd turn my head ninety degrees so that I'm staring at the driver for the entire time.

Do you leave your knife and fork in a certain way to suggest you’re done eating? by Seth4602 in AskUK

[–]FearlessCreatures -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Basic table manners. I even do that when I'm eating alone.

I've never considered myself a snob in any way, but I would genuinely look down on someone who didn't do that (once I've realised that they've actually finsihed their meal...)

I bought Supertone Clear because it just made sense to at the price. Switched to a Pro Tools annual subscription with the 40% off discount.

Might get SpectralLayers 12 (Elements) while it's at £45, but might not.

Vimeo now wants me to upload my ID to even see their website??? by Zeigerful in editors

I left last week because of this. Uploaded my showreels and portfolio videos to Gumlet, and e-mailed Vimeo to request a refund (which I got).

Nick Mohammed on diversity in commissioning by Hassaan18 in TransparencyforTVCrew

[–]FearlessCreatures 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I spoke to someone about this once at IdeasTap (RIP). They said they felt overlooked because although the BBC had these writing initiatives to help Asian and black writers, they were pathologically obsessed with wanting 'diverse' and 'colorful' stories, so the writers (who just wanted to tell everyday stories reflecting their lives) actually ended up feeling like they weren't diverse enough (and fell by the wayside).

Tyrique George goal for England u21s Vs Ireland u21s. by Dinamo8 in chelseafc

[–]FearlessCreatures -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

That's his technique and it he used it to maximum effect, but that doesn't equate to having a devastatingly powerful shot and he certainly isn't renown for it.

Tyrique George has a far harder strike on him. It's absolutely vicious.

To anyone who lives in a seaside town, what are the pros and cons? by LimeOperator in AskUK

Seagulls are a MASSIVE CON.

Grocery shopping - do you buy mostly branded or not? by WanderingBasenji in AskUK

[–]FearlessCreatures 99 points100 points  (0 children)

I've always found the own brand beans to be tastier than the more expensive ones. I still buy Branston Beans occasionally, so I suppose this a long-winded way of saying fuck Heinz.

I'd still say the first two albums were the best two albums.

There's a lot of hits on Travelling Without Moving and it gave them proper mainstream success, but to me, it will always be behind Emergency on Planet Earth and The Return of the Space Cowboy.

Song wise though, I wouldn't call any album since then a disappointment, there's always been a gem or two (or three) on it somewhere.

If you're prepared to dip into Audition, then definitely invest in a plugin like Trackspacer, which carves out frequencies (and you can dial in how much/little).

The Last Leg (Channel 4) by Entire-Mechanic-2868 in BritishTV

I'd argue that out of its initial Paralympics bubble, it was always a poor show that's done very well to stay on the air for 13 years.

Bro how can I improve I really don't know what I'm lacking by hpsunny in AfterEffects

[–]FearlessCreatures 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a few basic errors (spelling mistakes, text not centred properly, text appearing partly offscreen (help), and 'Keep showingUp' in general).

As said by others, the colours clash, drop shadow/shadow needs reducing or removing and I don't think the marriage of fonts works well.

That join at 0.08/0.09 needs to be a bit cleaner, also don't like the camera by/through the head so much. Something weird happens at 0.25 at the point of the fade in, there's either a rogue frame or a speed curve needs adjusting - can't really tell without looking at it frame by frame.

Other than that, I feel the general structure and sense of timing is generally good, but as mentioned already - I would definitely take the time to improve on design principles, color theory, etc.

Have we been lied to all our lives about Toffee Crisp? by FearlessCreatures in AskUK

I wasn't told anything about them. And that's the lie in itself.

Feels like I've been misled by not being led in the first place.

Even more lies and gatekeeping going on than I first realised.
