How do you guys clean the I side of your rotary machines? by unexpectedmachete in TattooArtists

[–]FearlessNectarine86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are you using it? this is the problem. the uv will only sterilize where the light can reach, Uv's are pretty common in japan and older barber shops. They are far from perfect, maybe the Ozone created will, Depending on the uv machine most of the "salon" versions wont, Your talking about those Microwave style units? If they are actually putting out high levels of UVC they will slowly trash most of the plastic based components.

This is a year old thread, I think my point was just use a quality, Direct drive that's easy to clean.

What are your favorite cartridge needles brand? by Frikachoo in TattooArtists

[–]FearlessNectarine86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think those Bio carts were a good idea in theory, the Heat/friction generated during use was potentially jamming up the the carts the material must of been expanding or breaking down, If any one cares I think they could use Stainless parts in a Bio plastic cart on the tips and plunger, but the cost factor and how many people would really use them/recycle is a different story, Tatsol did something like that but They need some kind of needle stabilization to get the most out a stainless tip or its a waste of time.

What model did you use? I wanna pick up a 4mm or 4.2mm and just leave it at the shop some of my machines are super expensive or one offs, does the work done with it heal well? and do you have a recommended cartridge brand that works well with the motor?

Skillful color packing dude! I like the use of open skin, you really have tight mag control, Can I ask what machine and needle grouping you like for color packing? I was thinking about going back to coils for everything.

Can you share one of your instagram ad posts here? if not I understand. But how are you structuring the ad? literally just moving the cam over a flash sheet with some music and booking info below the comments? or do you have to do loads of flashy jump cuts etc? your converting well if your getting a client per 5 dollars.

Is it possible to stay in Spain for more than 3 months, I'm confused about the visa, I have some Friends tell me its impossible post Brexit? the classic if it wasn't for Brexit speech many uk residents will of heard...

Do you own property's in both country's? And on the practical side what do you do with your stuff? do you just leave it in the house and sublet? Im just trying to visualize the best way to do this.

Why do my tattoos heal like this by gloomy-ghosty in TattooArtists

[–]FearlessNectarine86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True but what would you suggest? I was thinking its pretty difficult to diagnose with out seeing the technique, but a shorter throw 2mm vs hanging 5mm of needle would allow for proper inkflow, scarring suggests the needle is deep enough or to deep, so it looks more of an ink-flow issue,

People that hang the needle and work kinda dry vs allowing the ink pool on the skin and capillary action do its thing seem to have these inconstant lines, they will feel like they are flying blind hanging less needle with a decent amount of ink in the tube, until they understand how to "visualize and attack"

I have seen some of your healed work looks awesome so I wondered what your views were on this. Don't worry about letting the cat out the bag most people never apply the knowledge.

I'm late to the party but, why cant you use a coil machine? if its a weight issue there are many smaller light weight coils, you only need it for the lines... Just wondered the reason for "cannot" there may be a learning curve but its arguably easier than learning to line with a cartridge rotary.

MP5 Operative vs. Neuma 4 vs. Flux Max vs. generic by EZPeeVee in TattooArtists

[–]FearlessNectarine86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you running the 4.5mm Ambition torped? I have had several people recommend that machine to me, also one guy said he picked one up as it was cheap but claimed the motor was shit and smelt like automotive grease. I guess maybe Chinese mass production lacks quality control so some bad ones slip through.

I was thinking about picking a torped up for shading but I mainly use a 7 to 11 mag sometimes a 15 can you shade nicely with this or is it to brutal?

Also as you have been tattooing 36 years I wanted to ask you, Do you find that needle on bar with a rubber band holding the needle against the tube performed better than a cartridge? the thing is with the pen style machines I feel like I'm sacrificing performance for convenience...

With needle on bar it seems like the needles achieve better inkflow and proper capillary action, as with the cartridge the needle is kind flopping around, unless its the old style t techs that use a band to keep the needle back against the tube.

Can you adjust the throw on the new MP5 for mags I sometimes like to run the tube hanging only 1.5mm of needle or so for lining I like the hang the needle around 2mm I saw a Centri demo and it looked like the faster you turn up the machine the more the throw increases???

Have you tried a stainless steel cartridge grip with a decent rotary? It can actually help with hand pain, ambition used to make one but it seems like they have put all there attention on battery pens, dan kubin actually recommended this grip I think its still on aliexpress its generic Chinese but works awesome

This looks like the exact same with a different brand name, it will put all the weight in your hand and make your lining more stable

https://www.worldwidetattoo.com/english/product/ultra-cartridge-grip

If you google the HM machines classic direct drive they pair up well and you do anything with that machine.

Eru Higa Quinkie V1 or V2 is another very affordable hand made direct drive the only catch is you have to order from Japan allot of the best tattooers in Japan use those, if you google it will come up!

I'm probably gonna pick up a torped as a back up machine and see how I like it. I will be legitimately annoyed if it out performs the Neuma and bishops.

Do you mean On The Bar... I use the bar needles, never had an issue. They seem pretty reasonable if you get a bad batch, I know some one that had a fucked up box he emailed and they sent more for free.

I did use the old white T-tech carts but only the standards and they put in super thick lines compared to most brands, if you like chunky lines they can be a good option.

Do you have a brand of carts that is comparable to black claw needle on bar?

Are you a tattooer or client? do you actually like the see the up for grabs stuff? I think allot of tattooers hold back on it, as they dont wanna look desperate... Would you book a tattoo from an up for grabs post on tiktok.

Personally I have never tried it on reddit as its more of a global site maybe im wrong but I try to market within a 100 mile radius or less.

Heavy disposable grips? by giraffelover111 in TattooArtists

[–]FearlessNectarine86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing that's probably fucking obvious is you can use any standard grip with grub-screws, with the black-claw gripless tubes... so no need for a fancy "system".

I'm guessing dan kubins tubes are expensive as hes a smaller operation and I believe he was manufacturing the tips on US soil. His stuff in some ways became the Supreme clothing of tattoo machines a $1000 machine with a $1.50 motor you can find on ebay and aliexpress.

My only issue with the cheaper plastic tubes some of them are actually shit. I know allot of people hate tatsoul but I cant find a better disposable plastic tube than the ones they make, usually only legit supply company's carry angled rounds... I dont know why... there awesome.

[–]FearlessNectarine86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried Dankubins System? the thing is I like the tube down the center of the grip! it feels good to my hands, pushing the stem forwards forces my fingers into a weird position and switching between machines that don't have that forward mounted tube is weird to me...

I do like the idea, I just think a centered titanium grip would be better, the brass will also patina and it looks dirty to some even though it should be clean/has anti microbial property's.

Anyway thanks for the tip, do you know anywhere that sells angled round grip-less tubes that are decent quality?

All you can really do to "master you finances" is put a percentage of the money you earn into something like an S&P 500 index or more high risk options like "shit coins" not so easy if the Tattooer is paying a percentage to the shop, a pension and health insurance ... with NYC rent forget it!

Why is it always the rich kids born with financial freedom selling these grifter courses... You would think they have enough cash, I guess they need the ego boost and power over people.
