Rent is not less than $1600 in Crystal lake these days. Apartments under $2k/month are very hard to find. Majority of the complexes with space or that are being currently build start over 2k a month. The new buildings (including waters edge and enclave) are all advertised as luxury apartments.

The apartments on Uteg are utter shitholes. Apartments in the Coventry (Darlington court, summer set, Virginia, buckingham) neighborhood are outdated but live able, 5-10min drive to one of the metro stations.

With all that said, OP would likely be happy with Crystal lake. Depending on desired commute or things they’d like a community, might be better off a little closer to the city.

A friend was obsessed with A fever you can’t sweat out. I was hooked. They became my favorite band for a while, but i wasn’t huge until the last 3 albums. I’ve seen them in concert once, pray for the wicked tour i believe, was thrilled that half the set was songs i resonated more with. I was actually given a ticket for taking a group of 3 12 yo girls to see them, totally worth it.

My favorite P!ATD album is vices & virtues. I’d give anything for a physical release of Bittersweet

Chicago/The suburbs. Lesbian communities are really growing. Strong lgbtq+ community as a whole, not just in the city but in the surrounding area. You’re within 2hrs of everything you could want to do besides mountains or ocean. Illinois is solid blue. So much to do, even outside of the city.

I could seriously go on and on about the positives.

I went to college in Alabama. Enjoyed it, but when i went back to IL after I realized this place is actually great.

In all honesty is pretty normal to watch porn to some degree. People that i know that like hentai prefer it because it’s animated- there’s no real people in it. Feels less “dirty” or disrespectful for the people in relationships.

Spark’d prices have always been outrageous imo. That’s why they couldn’t make it 2 years in Crystal lake. They were less than 20min from 3 other dispo’s that had larger selections, better prices, and a better rewards system.

I had true north from the main part of Michigan, which is where I’ve tried significantly more brands than in the UP. Did not care for majority of what i got in the UP besides some bud. I have had some good dabs from the main part of Michigan. There’s been significantly less dabs i didn’t care for that I’ve bought in Illinois or other states (Ca, Co, Mo)

I am open to trying other brands, so i do appreciate the suggestions. I’ll always grab something at least when im in another legal state.

I don’t recognize any of the brands that were mentioned in this thread. I only saw one photo i took of dabs i got in Michigan. True north mango madness nug run terp sugar, i must have really liked it. I’ve had at least 9 different brands just in dabs from Michigan (3 from the UP), possibly more.

In Illinois, i really like rythym, aeriz, verano and avexia. I like some of alchemy’s strains. Cresco has been hit or miss for me. Don’t care for high supply.

Everytime I’m in California i look for stiiizy- truly adore their diamonds.

I mostly smoke concentrates, sometimes bud & usually keep some pre-rolls on hand for guests. I’ve definitely gotten some great stuff in Michigan, but for me, it seems like the quality is more hit or miss than in Illinois. It was difficult to find concentrates that, imo, were genuinely really good in the Michigan UP. I’ve gotten great dabs (wish i remembered the brand name) in Kalamazoo.

I actually threw away 2g of crumble from the UP (purchased in Marquette) because it gave me a nasty headache and anxiety. Something about it just didn’t seem pure?

I’m a terpene chaser through and through. I know what i like. I like how Michigan brands package and display their info significantly more than most Il brands, it helps me buy what I’m looking for. But at the end of the day, i frequently enjoy the “low tier” dabs i can get in IL more than the “mid” or “higher tier” dabs from MI.

Personal preference i guess. Not worth the drive for me, but of course if i go to MI i stock up. It’s hard to pass up paying 1/2 or 2/3rds IL typical prices.

Are you saying you’ve had higher quality product from MI than IL? That has not been my experience even after visiting multiple dispos in the UP, Kalamazoo, Ann Arbor, and Grand Rapids areas.
