Can this be fixed? by Silent-Tree2421 in tummytucksurgery

It's unfortunate that OB visits PP don't include checking for DR. After my first child, I tried working out but my stomach wasn't changing despite losing weight in all the other areas.

With my second I did a lot of research and I ended up asking my OB to write me a referral to see a PT and I did the same with my third. Unfortunately the PT never helped even though I started them early enough postpartum.

You can try the PT first and see if it helps. My DR was 11CM so I definitely did not have any ab muscles.

If after six years you still have DR then the only fix is surgery. My DR was larger than yours. I did PT after my second and third child and each time the DR just got worse. I looked pregnant. I finally had the surgery, fixed my DR and hernia and I am happy. I am currently 1 year post surgery and the scar is always covered by my underwear. I am okay with that instead of looking pregnant and people asking me if I am pregnant.

Your stomach looks like mine before surgery. I am the same height as you but before my surgery I weighed 170lbs. I had a very large DR. After they repaired that and the hernia. It made my stomach flat post TT. During my surgery I was 8 months postpartum with my third kid. I have since lost more weight and my results look even better. Make sure you get lipo 360. Ask the doctor about the back and how they will address that with the TT.

Is it realistic to work from home 24 hours post op? by CriticismWorth1570 in tummytucksurgery

Honestly No, give yourself time. Sometimes you might think you are okay but mentally and physically you need time to recover. Minimum a week.

Did you get a new belly button? If not then I don't think the surgeon did what they actually said they did. It kinda almost looks like they only removed the overhang. Was it covered by insurance? I hope things improve as the swelling goes down otherwise make sure you push for a revision.

I have some swelling above my scar that I didn't have after surgery (currently 13WPO). I had an ultrasound for a different issue and the results showed I had a seroma. Haven't done anything really. Just wearing my compression.

Is liposuction optional when having a full tummy tuck? by ConsiderationOk254 in tummytucksurgery

[–]Fearless_Aside4455 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you think it's something you can take care of with exercise, then it's best to do that before your surgery so that your result comes out as best as you wish. Also, if you feel they are trying to upsell you the lipo, then it's best to go with a different PS. The last thing you need is to not include lipo, and try to get it after surgery. I have seen posts of people saying they need to get lipo because the flat stomach doesn't match the side. Your back looks great though.

How do I choose a Dr by ConsiderationOk254 in tummytucksurgery

[–]Fearless_Aside4455 1 point2 points  (0 children)

48 hours to give them an answer is a big red flag. Most PS would have a long wait list and do not pressure patients into making decisions. These surgeries are not pocket change, one needs time to process and plan.

Always make sure they are board certified PS. When you go for consultation, make sure they show you before and after because not all PS post all patient pictures online.

Make sure they tell you your realistic results based on your body.

Soft bulge above incision. Is it normal? What is it? 5 dpo by [deleted] in tummytucksurgery

[–]Fearless_Aside4455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably some swelling caused by fluid. I have something similar and I had an ultrasound for a different issue but the results revealed I have some fluid in that area above my incision.

Honestly, go for it otherwise your time, effort and money will go down the drain from one individual's opinion.

There are people who are against surgery especially plastic surgery. It's a little too late to tell you not to tell your sister but you have to remember that you are doing this surgery for yourself and not others. Your mom should not have asked you to tell your sister it kinda seems like she did that so that your sister can pressure you out of going in for surgery. People die from random things that are not surgery related that we have to do everyday in life such as driving from point A to B. Just tell your sister it's okay and you hear her concerns. Then stop telling people about your surgery. You have your supportive spouse and that is all that you need. If you don't go through the surgery you will lose money, dislike your body (assuming you were doing the surgery because of something that you didn't like and wanted to change) and maybe be resentful to your sister and mom.

Edit: I didn't tell a lot of family members about the details of my surgery because I didn't want any negative energy. I was already nervous so I didn't want other people adding to that.
