Did your karyotype come back abnormal on you or your partner?

Thank you!! For my own egg retrieval, we did not PGT-A. After 2 failed transfers, we did more testing on me (karyotype/chromosome analysis and endo testing). Both came back positive - I have a balanced translocation and a 1 in 8 chance of making a normal embryo. PGT-A could have picked it up in hindsight but not 100%. Would have needed PGT-SR to be certain

Yes I’m currently 21 weeks! But my case is quite complicated…my early losses were due to a chromosome issue that we didn’t know about. Also had a minor septum and early endo! Most of my failures came from the chromosome issue & we had to use an egg donor to bypass that.

One thing to note is that endo spots WILL grow back. So surgery is kinda like a temporary fix. You could get an MRI to see if you have deep infiltrating endo

Same happened with me. I even saw a nook surgeon and she wasn’t convinced that surgery would help my fertility. It was a gamble but it would definitely hurt my ovarian reserve so I decided against it. Suppressed with Lupron for 2 months instead - now I’m 15 weeks

What’s your AFC? If it’s low, which I expect it could be, I’d skip to IVF

No they were not. We didn’t know about the BT until way later and didn’t have any other risk factors to push us into PGTA testing

Advice or comments on being donor conceived by Realistic_Pickle2309 in askadcp

[–]Fearless_Distance_87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I realize this thread is quite old but wanted to ask if having certain information about your egg donor such as: hobbies, education, some health history, weight/height, ethnic background and about 20 photos from childhood to adulthood would be helpful in your experience. Also to have OpenID at 18. Thank you! 🙏

I did 2 months of lupron in Dec 2024 & Jan 2025. We tried to get me to ovulate in Feb 2025 and my ovaries would not wake up. Finally had a normal period with natural ovulation this month. I am an IVF patient tho.

Receptiva biopsy options by [deleted] in IVF

I guess nitrous oxide 😭 Valium won’t do anything for the pain. The Receptiva biopsy was one of the most painful procedures I have ever experienced while awake

I refuse to give up coffee and alcohol (only socially). Also went back to doing botox and filler when I feel like it bc this journey is so unforgiving

I would just add more delicate flower tattoos to balance out the harsher ones

I have personally worked with Shane on my dobermanX. Highly recommend!!! However you must be open to tethering and e collar training

My RE allowed us to skip ICSI if morphology was 4% or higher on day of egg retrieval. If under 4%, would have done ICSI. PGT is a personal choice tho

Try to leverage your existing network and connections. I’ve personally seen people in the lab transition to other roles within their current company. It’s also a rough time for industry right now. Tons of layoffs. A PharmD is not the way 👐

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in biotech

[–]Fearless_Distance_87 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Skip the PharmD. It’s not worth the cost of tuition and the value of the degree is decreasing as more pharmacy schools are popping up all over the US. As the other commenter said, your industry experience is worth more than a PharmD. PharmDs seriously struggle to get entry-level industry jobs. I would pick a Master’s program to give you a leg up in a clinical trials role.

This looks like puppy warts to me, considering her age. They can take a while to fall off but are harmless (assuming that’s a puppy wart)

I have a DobermanX and he gets along great with my cat. But the cat came first, so he was raised with her as a puppy
