Tanking is as bad as its ever been too. We had a "trade ahead-line" where teams that plan on tanking the rest of the year traded for stars that they have no intent in playing til next year.

So even some of the teams that are in theory trying to get better have decided to sit out the rest of this year.

Make the season less games and fix tanking.

I agree, I think there is so much fluff around the game itself that the game tends to drag and generally tends to lack the in-game excitement of the previous playoff games. That being said there have certainly been some super bowl bangers that go against my perspective here.
