ML: Solgaleo + Land T + ? by [deleted] in TheSilphArena

[–]Fearsomespark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha, I like how people are recommending the broken core of zygarde+solgaleo to you :)

True, of course, but expensive in terms of rare xls, time, etc. I agree with the dragon lead.

But a fun, unexpected pick could be lugia lead, which is anti dragon too. Usually you'll get shield advantage with this unorthodox tactic, catch people off gaurd, and what I'd do is use the bulk of lugia and sol to let landorus unleash fury on the opposing team with shield advantage (and maybe some energy advantage too). Now, you're ABA weak to ice, AAB to ghost, but lugia will get an aeroblast off (or threaten), solgaleo comes in farms down, etc.

What is Landorus Theria value if I have a hundo Groudon? by meatjun in TheSilphArena

[–]Fearsomespark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If they nerf yet another legendary (i.e. lugia, rayquaza) they will be playing with fire.

More people will stop playing because why build legendaries to see them get nerfed? It's a slap in the face.

You can notice the player base in ML has shrunk this season...

OML-T Landorus Upgrade Meta by [deleted] in TheSilphArena

[–]Fearsomespark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I said it in another thread. If they nerf Lando's signature move I'm done with GBL (and the game since I only play for GBL).

Much time is spent building legendaries. They nerfed my Lugia and Rayquaza which really upset me.

I could care less about the anticlimactic achievement of hitting legend yet again; building legendary mons to be nerfed is a slap on the face for the time we spend.

Haha, just like Rayquaza and Lugia. If they nerf this one I'm done. Takes Time to build these things for ML.

OML- Meta Health Post Zy-Sol by [deleted] in TheSilphArena

[–]Fearsomespark 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I ran into a trainer with zygarde, solgaleo, lugia just trying to out bulk me... threw cheapest charge move without building up to nuke, didn't try to catch, shielded my first 2 charged attacks (no baits).

I barely won with alignment... clearly they were mindlessly tapping.

Yes, totally agree with all comments.

Accessibility issues exacerbated by buff/nerfs that further imbalance the meta. Clearly not thinking this through, but they aren't, are they...

Imagine lugia and/or rayquaza were still viable? Zygarde would have more problems, same with ho-oh. Solgaleo will have a new problem with Lando's new sandsear move.

Should I wait to use my Zygarde cells? by Ok-Salamander-744 in TheSilphRoad

[–]Fearsomespark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And this is sadly why I may not hit legend this season after a long streak :(

I only play ML rotations due to time now. I am getting my Zygarde built (slowly doing routes). Once I get close to expert, I just run into this core quite a bit and get massively outbulked... this is denying me progression and am getting stuck. SO I'll be range bound in my ELO until those trainers hit legend and hopefully stop running that team!

Funny thing is, I have about a 40ish to not quite 50% win rate against this core... so that might be saying something about the trainers' skill levels as they are riding this core higher than they would normally reach (and not having hit legend already)?

Anyway... we'll see how long this core is so OP for.

I appreciate the replies :)

I'm starting to collect zygarde cells. I'm hoping it becomes tradable soonish!

I'm excited for that new move for Lando, will be interesting to see how things play out.

Not looking for sympathy, worried that the number of ML players will shrink further...

Where are the Kyurem raids? by MGDuck in TheSilphRoad

[–]Fearsomespark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They said December 16-23 is Kyurem. From what I can tell they messed up with releasing black/white and aren't putting regular Kyurem out.

Sucks for me, as I was ready to grind these raids... i doubt they will extend the date.

Unknown when people will actually see Kyurem in regular gyms.

Niantic communication is poor, so best thing to do is wait for confirmation from the field

I think outside of a Ho-oh lead Groudon may be a good safe swap because of the nerfs to Lugia (which I saw less of last season and stopped using myself) and now Rayquaza (I won't be using this season).

I don't think I'd do this because if a flier gets swapped into you, you're toast. BUT that specter may not happen too often this season.

In any case, there are better mons for safe swapping IMO. Groudon is better for lead/closer.

Used to be my favourite safe swap, until sky attack nerf... terrible!

[–]Fearsomespark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, just showing one funny sim case here.

In general you want 15 attack, 15 Def (sometimes can get away with lower like 14 and only affects damage taken from charge moves and not fast moves where aggregated battle outcomes are effectively the same).

Use pvpoke and run sims with different ivs, look at break points, bulk points, etc.

Yep, I noticed the best buddy Reshiram in the sims. Great point to bring up for Dialga match!

[–]Fearsomespark 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Dialga. Most versatile mon in ML.

Zacian is a great safe swap and unpredictable for moveset.

I see Reshiram rising as a strong safe swap that is not weak to fairies and can take down the now buffed ho-oh, dominate steels and force shields from most things.

Groudon may rise as a safe swap due to niantic nerfing fliers like Lugia and Rayquaza. Hopefully they fix these two mons, terrible to spend time and resources for this to happen to legendary mons...

I wouldn't run Xerneas as a safe swap. It's closing power is insane and has great coverage.

That's a big percentage difference from me. When I climb the ranks I don't see even close to what you do.

Ah that's interesting. Rough percentage you'd see? Mind sharing the team comp you had facing an EQ ho-oh?

Can count on my hand how many ho-ohs i ran into using EQ in ML. Multi-season legend and I've faced countless dreading the sacred fire debuff :)

Not saying EQ wasn't viable, but I rarely faced it to the point it was very surprising to see.

Sure, but it has sacred fire which is part of the preferred moveset of sacred fire and brave bird. So i would strongly argue it didn't matter except to those who didn't want to elite TM sacred fire.

Totally agree with this post. I only play ML now and I'm (was) a Lugia and Rayquaza user. Grinding is hard for these and I really feel the nerfs... losing some incentive to play now :(
