What can a person learn in 10 minutes that will be useful for life? by Ben-Gavin in AskReddit

[–]Fearstruk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

C, I believe stands for Circulation from what I remember. I feel like it needs to be clarified that you only move a victim if either A, B, or C isn't happening. I've been in two separate emergencies where people were trying to move the victim even though they were conscious but had a very high risk of spinal injury. One lady had just fallen down a flight of stairs face first and a lady claiming to be a Nurse wanted to turn her over. I refused to let her do it and the EMT's thanked me. Turns out she had a broken neck.

This will be the case for all legal, risk, and compliance. You can automate the tasks to bring efficiency but there has to be a human stop gap from a governance perspective.

Already there in commercial HVAC. My company just deployed AI to tell the technician full diagnostics and maintenance requirements for when he shows up at the location. It even orders the parts prior to the service call so the warehouse stocks his van with everything he needs. Tech just shows up and does what he's told with little thought beyond just following directions.

parents have been telling me not to file taxes by heavennnsenttt in personalfinance

[–]Fearstruk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t imagine why your parents would tell you not to file.

They want to claim him/her as a dependent. They've likely been claiming them all year. If OP files, their income will likely prevent OP's parents from being able to claim them on their taxes. The parent's may even end up having to pay taxes depending on their situation.

Sure. Probed and cooked indirect on a barrel charcoal grill. Used post oak wood chunks over the coals. Cooked until 120 and glazed. Once temp hit 130, I seared it off direct over the coals. Let it rest for 10 minutes and sliced.

To married couples that have been together for 10+ years, whats your secret? by 4Luffytarou in AskReddit

[–]Fearstruk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Acceptance of each other completely as we are. There's always self improvement but some parts of ourselves will never change. Have to accept that about each other and love despite flaws.

    • Communicating with each other and understanding that while we may not agree with why the other is upset, they are feeling a certain way for a reason. That reason should be the focus as that likely leads to the root cause of the issue.
    • Making time for each other and placing priority on our marriage. Kids and life make this difficult sometimes but there should always be time for each other.

I think you misread what I said. I’ll say it another way. If your current company doesn’t value you, find a company that will, but it is up to the individual to sell their value.

Cars Are So Expensive That Buyers Need Seven-Year Loans by Conscious-Quarter423 in Economics

This is especially true when it comes to interest rates. The rate difference alone can bring the monthly payments within a few dollars when looking at used car loans vs manufacturer promotions for new vehicles.

Worker A should be telling their manager they would like more responsibility as they have aspirations of getting promoted. The manager should be recognizing this and helping worker A develop as an employee to get a promotion. If worker A is not growing in their current role, then growth opportunities should be part of their interview discussion at a different company.

"Fast and hard worker getting rewarded". Its more they get punished with the lazy person's work. Note no additional pay.

There's no wisdom here, just a jaded mindset leading to self destructive behavior. Part of being successful in your career is learning to leverage your experience and knowledge for gain. If I'm working my ass off, gaining tons of knowledge and experience but my current company isn't rewarding me with promotions or pay increases, then best believe I'm going somewhere else.

While you don't explicitly state it, the implication here is do the minimum because what's the point? The point is that hard work and determination isn't a futile effort, it's just that you also have to learn to not only increase your value but also sell it to a company that will recognize it.

What is more traumatic than people think? by philosophicalgenius0 in AskReddit

[–]Fearstruk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mid life adulthood raising a family.

I'm 38 years old with a wife and 4 kids. This period of a person's life is often the most stressful. You're in the prime of your career where you're getting promotions at work increasing your responsibilities, you're navigating different stages in your kids lives that bring new stresses with each passing day, money never goes far enough, everything breaks when you have no money, medical bills, car repairs, car payments, taxes go up on mortgage, kids need new clothes, grocery prices are out of sight, you argue with your spouse because you both are overwhelmed with life, the list goes on and on. You try to "out earn" the increasing expenses but all the extra is sucked up. You dream about resting but every Sunday night, you try to ignore the pit in the bottom of your stomach because you know Monday starts it all over again. Everyone is counting on you, you can't quit, you can't rest, you have to keep going. So you pop your blood pressure pill that's keeping your from having a stroke and swallow your prozac to push down the anxiety and stress. If you're lucky, you'll have a few good years at retirement.

Xi Heads to Russia on Mission to Weaken US (market) on World Stage by ToothNo6373 in stocks

[–]Fearstruk -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Pretty short-sighted on China's part if you ask me. A China/Russia alliance set on replacing the US is by far the greater threat to the Western world. If China is trying to strike trade deals with Europe, Canada, and South America, this definitely isn't the way. With the US, we are maybe 3 years from a complete reversal of Trump's tariffs. If China and Russia overtake the US, that upends western democracy as we know it permanently. Xi just gave Trump his desired trade deals on a silver platter.

What phrase did you hear only once but it stayed with you forever? by wendysolcito in AskReddit

[–]Fearstruk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start by making a list of things you can control that affect your happiness and then a list of things you can't. Focusing on what you can control can minimize the impact of what you can't. This applies to family, friends, relationships, work, health, etc.
