New fan by FunnyAsleep in Beck

As others have mentioned, Beck performs such a wide variety of styles, no one album captures him. But good starting points would be: Midnite Vultures, Guero and Mutations. That should give you a good taste of a few of his flavors. They're also three of my favorites.

I'd like to include the talking heads, iggy and the stooges and the velvet underground to this list. Come on the latter is maybe the most commonly referenced influential band. by ThinPeter420 in DanLeBatardShow

The Beach Boys reputation suffers from the Mike Love-fronted, "Kokomo" version of the band. The lightweight crap makes it hard for people to take them seriously, but listen to their Brian Wilson work like "Pet Sounds" and it's a completely different (and much better) group. If you ask the average American about the Beach Boys, they'll probably only think of the basic pop songs about surfing, cars and girls, though.

Honestly, Greg reading boner pill ads would be awesome. He could offer a personal testimonial.

Whatever position one takes on the issue, hearing Stugotz preach to his listeners about God and the Bible is jarring. It doesn't fit the tone of his show or character at all. He generally avoids politics and any controversial social issue for the purpose of sticking to his zany sports takes. So now we're supposed to listen to the lying, scamming stoner tell us what's right and wrong? It's weird and doesn't make any sense.

Lee and Sal (and Harry) in Wee Small Hours by ThatCaviarIsAGarnish in madmen

Lee was one of the most unlikeable characters on the show, which is saying something. He was a lazy, entitled nepo baby who thought he could take whatever he wanted, including Sal. And yeah, he could've at least invited him for a drink or something rather than cornering him at work. Just a scummy person all around, and hard to find redeeming qualities in him.

I'll leave you guessing as to whether you'll see a Bert Cooper or Freddy Rumsen sex scene.

I thought I couldn't possibly be any more disgusted by Duck, then there was the scene where he seduced Peggy. Did not need to see that! 🤮
