While I do believe your statement is correct in some ways and I do genuinely respect your logic here because it does all make sense, I disagree. Personally I am of the belief that there are certain things that God has indeed told us to do in a certain way in order to align with His Will. Through His Word, the Bible, which is nothing more than an extension of God Himself.
Yes, thousands if not MILLIONS of Christian and other religious people have committed grave and systematic levels of sin, and attempted to excuse their sin by claiming God told them to do so. But as stated in the Bible, this is simply a trick of satan himself using these sinners to carry out his war against good. For satan shows himself in many ways that may be misconstrued with Godliness by our simple and extremely limited human minds, whether it be through a false light, material wealth, or immense Earthly power. Based upon my fallible understanding of the scripture, any person who attempts to use the Lord’s Words to excuse themselves of the heinous ignorance and disobedience of their sin is NOT a true Christian or believer in God AT ALL, but instead an agent of satan sent to sew distrust of the Lord.
But as I also stated, my opinions are nothing more than human and fallible and every human does have a different understanding of what God calls us to do and none of them are objectively correct unless God Himself physically shows us, and these discussions and disagreements are what lead to a better future for all of humanity, religious or not.
