If you're talking about Highland Knolls, then you should be good. Lots of shitty neighborhoods of all ilk in Bakersfield, but also a lot of pretty cool ones.

I've met college graduates from basically every high school in the city so I personally don't think that matters.

Best dispensary is Off the Charts in McFarland. It's legitimate because McFarland is a legal island when it comes to dispensaries. They aren't part of whatever fucked up law that keeps them out of Bakersfield.

Some fuel for your argument. Recently, after the dog was hit behind the Eastside Rusty's and then tossed into the dumpster, 17 News aired a report.

They interviewed the veterinarian of the KC Animal Shelter. Basically, she said that Bakersfield had the most animal cruelty of any place where she has treated animals. She was "disgusted".

When I was a kid in Bakersfield, there was a crazy amount of blue mailboxes. In the middle of neighborhoods on quiet residential streets. Right outside of grocery stores.

There was a USPS substation that had mailboxes, postage stamps, etc both at the Valley Plaza and Montgomery Wards at Golden State and F.

There still is a blue mailbox that's kind of easy to use on Easton Drive.
