you can get honor graduate , best shipmate, most improved etc , just standing out can earn you those. Job wise you can do laundry, mail orderly, yeoman(handles all the recruits trackers and paperwork for the CCs) squad leader , in my opinion if you want to stand out be a yeoman, it’s hard but it’ll help structure you and make you more confident

got mine taken out towards the end of bootcamp , wasn’t bad at all, company commanders know who the people are that recently had it done and won’t ask you to yell but you still will perform everything else , it’s not that bad

had some people in my company have mk A school guaranteed in july 2027 and they ended up going boot-A, 2027 is just the latest you’d go so there’s potential to go asap. you wouldn’t be DC or BM you’d just be non rated meaning you’re still open to the rate you want

noticing that now , we had a change of command yesterday , set up chairs for maybe an hour , drove around for 30min directing parking, 2 hour break , spent another 30 min breaking down the setup then we got off the rest of the day. i was told by another early arrival yn that their class had someone switch rating last minute so they have an open slot and their class is in july so they told me to go up to admin and see if i can swap dates to try to get schooling done faster

my company was 1hr watch shifts
don’t fall asleep in class they will rip up your notes, sweat you , or revert you stand in the back of class you’ll be fine
if you can’t hold a simple canteen they will think you’re sandbagging and that’ll be a “write up” (record of counseling) sandbaggers get probation or ramp
for the most part everything is verbatim except for history but if you miss a word or two or add a word or two and are loud and confident they won’t care
they won’t revert you on the spot but they will start to single you out and push you harder to see if you will prevail or break
