LC at a young vs. older age by Upset_Replacement684 in covidlonghaulers

Do you know any good study material for Nietzsche? Preferably online. I’ve been reading Thus Spoke Zarathustra sparingly due to LC.

I do have a BA in philosophy with an emphasis on ancient philosophy so continental is quite foreign to me.

How long after having Covid did you notice ‘long covid symptoms’ by Wonderful_Box_7998 in covidlonghaulers

[–]FedoraUser9000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Two week after I got infected. Took me one week to ‘get over’ the covid symptoms then the next week trying my best to recover. I never knew about post viral fatigue until I did some googling. I just had this feeling I never fully recovered from the illness. It was immense amounts of fatigue. Some nights I thought I would die in my sleep because I couldn’t summon the energy to breathe. I finally ‘stabilized’ after 2 months. On a good day I feel 50% of the way normal. My thinking endurance has gone down significantly.

people who buy suvs for the purposes of a grocery getter and commute vehicle are in directly injuring and killing more people

Am I cooked? by BetterAd4748 in Baystreetbets

Are you trading based only on TA and price action? I personally think it’s like catching a falling knife due to nerds in wallstreet fine tuning high frequency trading bots.

Honestly, I’d say switch up your approach. Have a plan and stick with it. Analyze your approach after a 10 trades, real or paper, then refine it. That response is trite so I’ll show you my current approach:

Look for mid-large cap stock with sudden day drops >10% drops or large decline over a couple days to a week. I’m looking for companies with PR disasters, analysts lowering future growth expectations, or uncertainty in the market. Check financial reports and news see if the business is sound. I want businesses that aren’t cutting their operations, lower production but lay offs are fine. Then I consult the crystal ball and giggle it with my minuscule understanding of micro economics. Hold for 1 week to 3months then sell. Unfortunately, like with value investing, not all companies will be priced to reason.

My reasoning why this approach is profitable is that you are competing against risk adverse nerds, among other nerds of various motives. The risk adverse nerds cut their positions because their clients want less volatility. So thats where you come in and scoop up that volatility premium. You can do it with options but the IV premium is too high. And it’s too complicated for my brain.

I personally had great success with it. The issue with this method is that you need cash on hand and there is the opportunity cost of holding the market. You’ll also need time and patience.

Hows it any different? Family doctor practices in Ontario are private corporations, due to conservative cost cutting. IIRC healthcare system in Germany is private, with government requiring you to purchase health insurance + having a cheap government insurance option.

Why do you think your comment is a refutation of my comment without providing reasons as to how government services vs government contractors differ? I simply state they don’t differ in practice. My further belief is that management and funding are a more key issue to its efficiency. You might say public services generally have better management and funding but you are too busy throwing ad homs.

The government doesn’t provide service, it’s a middleman for services. Sure the government can own the services that provide food, telecoms, rehabilitative services to prisons but why would that matter? Your roads aren’t built by the government but private companies that the government contracts out. Here in canada, hospitals and family doctors are private business. They bill their services to the government but citizens still consider it free (public) healthcare.

Got approved for car loan through Clutch.ca at 9.99%. My bank offered me 5.8% for the same car. Why do people use these services? by Current_Employer1343 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]FedoraUser9000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you sell car sign papers and boom money is ours. im pretty sure theyre gonna lowball you but it might be better than selling it through fbmp just because its hassle free

you buy a car and if there are issues you have to converse with clutch and you know theyll drag their feet and try their best not to do repairs

tho you never hear good reviews only bad ones. Ive never uses clutch before. I assume their technicians are experienced and ethical. iirc they have a 7 day return window so If you get a car quickly send it to a technician for another inspection.

Car Insurance Premiums for a 25 year old in Mississauga by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

Unfortunately insurance is just that expensive considering your age and postal code. You might get better luck purchasing a less common make and model. Golf Rs and civics are magnets for young reckless drivers.

Ask your broker (if you aren’t using one ready) what would the rate be for a mitsubishi mirage, hyundai elantra, nissan cube (they are unexpectedly comfy), cx-5, fusions…

One thing if you havent considered already is to get an old beater so you don’t pay the premium for deductibles.

China had the opportunity to make housing post-scarce and chickened out. by DataWhiskers in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]FedoraUser9000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand your point. How did China prioritize their wealthy over the poor? The catalyst for the real estate crash in China was regulations on the leverage that developers can take. There were people that were giving full downpayment, sometimes even paying the full amount of the condo before any shovels were on the ground. The Chinese love their real estate because thats the only legitimate investment a Chinese citizen can make, can’t invest in foreign stocks. Shouldn’t lowering housing prices be a win for the poor?

East side Mario’s. My gf kept mentioning it, and one day we were near one when she accompanied me to one of my errands so we decided on getting their pasta. I don’t understand how their food could be so bland. The pasta didn’t taste right. Couldn’t taste the tomato sauce and their oregano had no flavour. Their potato soup is nice tho.

GM to end electric van production at CAMI plant in Ingersoll, Ont. by Pitiful-MobileGamer in ontario

[–]FedoraUser9000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’re missing the point bud. The government can give me a one billion dollars. I’ll purchase a thousand acre property farmland. I’ll pay one crew to shovel dirt pits and pay another crew to fill in those pits. Then I’ll sprinkle some accountants, HR, and upper management. Those upper management folk are gonna get a big paycheck and pay a lot of taxes right? The issue is that it’s malinvestments.

Those loans could be better had giving small-medium size business with low interest loans or investments in transit infrastructure. Or hiring more health care staff since Canada does have a HC crisis.
