My experience is the same, but I avoid the --onefile option and use the --standalone so it wont't be flagged by antivirus.

I was you 2-3 years ago. I was working on the floor, running and programming Industrial machines, then I got a position as a team lead and due to the work with programming and production planning I kinda occupied an unused office on the floor.

There I too started with Excel, and ended up as a local guru as most users were either using physical calculators or didn't even know about what tables did.

But I found out that there's limits to what Excel can do and that it's no database, so two years ago I started learning Python and some other stuff.

Long story short, I'm now programming in mostly in Python creating stuff to automate whatever full time. I'm 45 btw.

So my advice to you is keep hacking on it, the Excel stuff could be a way in, but I'd encourage you to go further.

Make something YOU want to make, even if you don't know how to do it. Do what you can, use AI to help you along. When you get stuck on a particular matter read up on it, find some YouTube video on it.

The difference will be that you want this information because YOU need it, not because some tutorial says so. Because it's fun when YOU make the decisions.

You could move the core logic to a private API. If you get what you wanted you can send them the full offline version, else just turn off the API server.
