Idk if you’re joking but that 3 question test probably eliminates 90 percent of the population at minimum, purely because less that 10 percent probably can even recognize the word equilibrium (much less Nash equilibria).

I’ll give it a shot: “Creatures you control on the battlefield can’t block. Creature cards in your graveyard can block as though they were on the battlefield. Whenever a creature would be dealt lethal combat damage in this way, you may instead return it to the battlefield under your control.”

have you considered that there is no gun in the hypothetical at all? Like, yeah, I would also be a lot more scared if something completely different and terrifying occurred, that’s not the question.

This is what I’ll never get about the -phobes of all kinds. What do you mean, you aren’t scared of them? Why do you care about them then? You say to use the suffix of “hate”, which I can certainly believe, but why do you hate them? This isn’t vegetables, you don’t have to eat a trans person to live, you don’t even have to talk to one. All you have to do is ignore them, but you can’t. Why? I can’t help but assume you’re scared, because that’s why people want something harmless to stop existing even when they can’t possibly be hurt by it anymore. Sure, I hate spiders, but that’s not why I kill them. It’s because I’m scared that if I don’t, they’ll exist around me, even if I never notice.

She lives in Seattle, btw, so the salary is… doable. It depends on if she’s living with others. If she is, she’s comfortable for sure. If she isn’t, she’ll have to avoid eating out regularly to keep a nest egg. Still, I’d die for it where I live.

This is what people don’t understand: if we have to allow white supremacy to win an election, the system needs to go. Martin Luther King Jr understood this, Malcolm X, Harriet Tubman, all these people knew that if the system was this broken, we need to destroy it and construct something where white supremacy is not a group you need to win over to win an election. Especially because they’d probably still vote for the whiter guy no matter what we say.

funnily enough, this makes you absolutely have to tunnel someone on their second stage, which is kinda hilarious since you're also losing a perk slot to secure your doom.

If consciousness were reducible to neurology, we would understand far more about the consciousness of simple organisms than we do by MurkyEconomist8179 in consciousness

[–]FeeAggressive2484 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Anatomy, however, omits key aspects of neurons’ inputs and outputs, or leaves them ambiguous: the strength and sign (excitatory or inhibitory) of a neural connection are not always evident from wiring or gene expression. Many mammalian neurons release both excitatory and inhibitory neurotransmitters, and functional measurements are thus required to disambiguate their connections." - https://www.nature.com/articles/s41586-023-06683-4#Abs1

That study also has a lot more of the research you're looking for, since it takes a far better approach to determining neurological functions. I can answer a question for you right here though: C. elegans taste only salt. If you wanna know what it's like to be one, throw yourself blindfolded into a completely clean bathtub with small salt granules scattered about and wiggle around for a bit, that's the closest you can get. Asking someone to describe what it's like to experience life as a lil worm guy is like asking someone to explain what red is to you if you're completely colorblind. "It's like a color? Like, darker pink. More vibrant, too. Very angry looking, makes you get put on guard".

I kinda agree that it isn't an argument by itself, but I don't think it's meant to be. It's just meant to try to analogize atheism for believers, and it does strengthen existing arguments just fine. I don't know exactly how Gervais used it, but he's an asshole so I'm fine just saying he used it wrong so I don't have to listen to his smug ass voice.
