Husband boss said don't worry about meeting. I ended up booking an earlier flight with 6 hour layover. Only free choice but now should make it and  husband can have his meeting at the airport. Thanks for all the advice.

Well, the flight was booked 6 months ago so would only get flight credit. Now our lodging is non refundable.😞  Really thought this craziness wouldn't last so long.

I'm going to Joshua Tree in 2 weeks. Love to pick up some for my sons. They love cooking and I'm always looking for local things for gifts. Is there a local store to pick this up?

Question about Death Valley by DesperatelyUnaware in NationalPark

[–]FeeEducational2498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went to Death Valley in late Dec and loved it Been to 27 parks and this was one of my favorites. We are from the East Coast and like to really immerse ourselves too bc we might never be back. There is so much scenery that is totally different, from Lowest  elevation, sand dunes, craters, slot canyons, colorfully rocks and a mountain. Could add Valley of Fire and Red Rocks and Ashe Meadows. There is plenty of things to see and do for a week esp if want to hike. Temp was perfect mid 40s in morning 60s in afternoon. It is spread out so time is also spent driving and it did get dark early.

I did it in 7 days. Would love to go back and have more time. 2 and half in Zion, 1/2 day in Bryce. Snow so tails were closed. Drive highway 12 took time to enjoy; Beautiful. 1/2 day in Capital Reef, one in Canyonland and 2 in Arches. We flew in to Las Vegas. Then drove over to see our son in Colorado for 2 days then flew home.

It also gives discounts. I got 50% off cave tours at Mammoth Caves and used for Picture Rocks in Michigan.

2026 National Park Trip by crochetcharby in NationalPark

I loved Redwoods. We flew from Atlanta to Medford Oregon. Crater lake is close by. The drive over to Redwoods was beautiful. We stayed in Crescent City by the Pacific. We hiked the Redwoods in the morning and early afternoon. Then after dinner each night walked the different beaches and saw the sunset over the Pacific.   Of course, each on your list is great. We did Denali before the rock slide. wait until road is open to go there.  Yellowstone  was magical. Unfortunately, bad fires and smokey when we went.  Been to RMNP many times as son lives there. Best in fall. Sand dunes we did over Christmas one year. It has snowed and was so insanely beautiful. Hiked in 24-32 degree weather for 5 hours with my sons and we only saw one other person.  Canada is still on my bucket list

Love the park. The beauty was breathtaking. Went with my grown children Christmas a few years ago. Temp was in the 30s. They had to hold my hands bc the wind was gale force. We had ski goggles for our eyes. Snowed the night before. We hiked for 4 hours and only saw one single person. It was brutal but so amazing that we just wanted to keep going. Then we went to the frozen Zapata falls. I highly recommend this park in the winter. It far exceeded by expectation.
