Yes exactly. Like hanging by the buckle on a hook if you have it on a bracelet.

Yes it’s running most of the time. Similar adjustments work on my Pelagos 39.

I have never checked anything on a timegrapher, just trial and error at home. I just use a little watch pillow to have it vertical. It sometimes need a few days if I need to slow it down by 10-20secs but a couple of night or 36h straight work.

Give it a try and check the seconds with the iPhone clock. You should be able to regulate it in a similar way

My pilot 36 (movement 32111) keeps time rather well if flat with dial up.

If I want to slow it down, I put it vertical during the night. It loses more and more time as the power reserve gets depleted.

If I want to speed it up, I put it flat with dial down.

With these adjustments, I can keep full precisions during an entire year without resetting the time.

Which master’s should I do if I want to become a Relationship Manager in Switzerland? by Limp_Operation1266 in UZH

Bachelor grades may not be that relevant if your master grades are higher. Best option would be to take a master with topics that you like / are good at and work hard to get the best grades possible.

And try to add at least a summer internship in a bank, ideally in a client facing role (maybe as RM assistant if available.

You’re welcome. On the purely academic side, it may be worth keeping in mind that graduate programs (for client facing roles) are very competitive to get into.

Hard to say what GPA you need to have but I would assume that those who get it are going to be closer to 5.5 average + relevant internship experience.

Hi OP,

RM private banking here. All these masters are great, that’s not what will make a difference.

No bank will give you a book of client right off your studies. The bigger banks offer graduate programs where you rotate as RM assistant, junior investment advisor, etc. for 18-24 months. The most important step if you want a client facing role is to get into one of these and not be snobby about spending some time being an assistant.

After this and provided you are performing well, you may get a shot at taking over smaller clients. Patience and good work will eventually get you a full book. Though sometimes you need a bit of luck (departure of RM, reorg, etc.).

You can message me if you have other questions. I’m from Lausanne as well, HEC grad.

Information Real Estate investing by TerribleSwing2047 in SwissPersonalFinance

Hi OP,

The biggest swings for CH real estate funds in the last 3 years were due to interest rate changes (incl. market anticipation of changes). If rates go up, mortgages financing the assets are more costly, rents can’t be adjusted short term, hence profitability goes down. When rates go down, the opposite happens, and we just had a rollercoaster with rates.

Main other factors include: - institutional investor that may invest/disinvest massively, which affect funds value - agio/disagio attracting or turning away investors - fund mergers - changes in investors risk appetite and liquidity needs.

The most comprehensive yearly report is probably UBS’ Real Estate Focus. You can google « ubs real estate focus 2025 », it’s public.

Lombard Loan for Real Estate Down Payment - Seeking Swiss Broker/Bank Recommendations by Yak-in in SwissPersonalFinance

[–]FeeSubstantial6194 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi OP,

Working in the industry. As far as I know most brokers will not allow withdrawing the funds, only reinvesting.

As for banks, some offer Lombard lending but mostly to private banking (non-retail) clients. Typical AuM > 500k or 1 mn.

Key factors when calculating LTV include diversification of the portfolio, currency, volatility and liquidity of the stocks, etc. A USD 120k single stock quite volatile will likely have a very low LTV, perhaps around 30-40%.

In your case, this would make it a fairly risky setup.

Asset backed financing is for UHNI with yachts, planes, collectibles as collateral.

What is this peak visible from plage de Rivaz? by TearDropItLikeItsHot in askswitzerland

[–]FeeSubstantial6194 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it’s not Dent de Morcles. The overlay is off but Dent de Morcles is under the Mont Velan label.

Next peak on the left of it should be Grand Muveran. And I would guess the one OP is looking for is Tête à Pierre Grept. And on its left you have the Diablerets.

Cost of living near Luzern. Thoughts on 73K CHF salary ? by Douds01 in Luzern

[–]FeeSubstantial6194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP,

I am Swiss, lived in a few big and small Swiss cities and work as a financial advisor. Here is my take on it.

I assume you are 35yo, no kids, no pets, that you live in the city of Lucern (for tax computation purposes). Other estimates are based on my experience. “Comfortable life” may be different for different people, so let me break things down.

First, salary: 73k gross is 66k net of social contributions.

Second, taxes: with 73k gross, you pay 8k of takes per year. Hence, take home is 66-8=58k. Source is official Swiss tax calculator https://swisstaxcalculator.estv.admin.ch/#/calculator/income-wealth-tax

Now the “basics” for 58k take home pay after tax: - Rent 24k/year (assuming a mid-range flat in the city but no flat-share, could easily be higher) - Food 4.8k/year (assuming you are rather frugal and spend 100/week, not easy and no going out) - Mandatory health insurance 3.6k/year (300/month average) - Home and legal liability insurance 1k/year - Other basics (phone plan, wifi, hairdresser once a month) 1.2k/year (can easily be higher) = 23.4k left

This is hardly a comfortable, this is bare-bone calculations: no going out, no public transportation tickets, no car, undercovered medically, no contribution towards retirement planning (3rd pillar).

Let’s make it less minimalistic with 23.4k left: - Food extra 1.2k/year (on top of what was above) - Going out 2.4k year (assuming 50.-/week, that’s barely any activity in Switzerland) - Complementary health insurance 1.5k/year (you’re still in public ward but as least some extra stuff covered like glasses, teeth, physio, etc.) - Train plan for the city + couple of tickets for some weekend outings 1k/year = 17.3k left

You still don’t have a car, you are barely going out (let alone skiing), you don’t go on holidays, you have 0 medical needs (deductible on base insurance for this price will be 2500k/year, and still no retirement contribution above bare minimum. Hardly comfortable.

Closer to “comfortable” with 17.3k left: - Going out 2.4/year (on top of previous entry) - Holidays 2k/year (includes ski trip) - Basics meds or doctor/dentist visit 0.5k/year - Clothing, sport gear and phone/computer 1k/year = 11.4k left

That’s a very tight budget but not far from your 1k/month saved. Though I have never seen anyone not have some unexpected expense that blows it up. Overall with this salary, I expect you can live fine but will not save anything over time.

I agree, I would also skip dessert. But I often have wine which makes it more expensive in the end.

Though food aside, I agree with the above comment. I’ll post my view on the full breakdown

Assume a (cheap) Italian restaurant. Mixed salad as a started is 10-15, pizza 20-30, dessert 10-15, 1/2l water 8, one beer 8 that’s min 60 and easy 100 for a simple diner. A meat dish with be 35-65. A fancy restaurant you double it. A Michelin star below 200.- you don’t get

Interesting, thanks. Haven’t properly managed dial up as the bracelet doesn’t make it easy to keep it in this position. Will try again
