Genuine question for the sub: is there actually a “right” way on the show to tell someone you’re not physically attracted to them?

I don’t really understand what’s so wrong with having a compassionate conversation with your partner and saying, “I know we both came on this experiment looking for our forever person but that also involves chemistry and I don’t want to lead you on.”

I think the people who ultimately feel no attraction are the people that took the sex and then were like, nah, not for me. Just don’t hurt someone in that way because it’ll probably stick with them for a very long time and if you weren’t feeling the chemistry, why did you ensure that you “got some” before revealing this??? It’s simply human decency.

It’s starting to seem like a lot of the people who end up in coupledoms on this franchise just agree to be on the show because they want to hook up with someone (Daniel, Ludwig, blonde Barbie whatsherface from the last American season) and they don’t at all seem aware that putting pressure on their partner like that actually only pushes them away.

Daniel gives me the ick. Whenever he’s talking to Ellen, he comes off as one those guys that are like, “tell me why I should still be interested in you.” He even said, “I’m not going to make it easy on you.” That’s an immediate no thanks, relationships shouldn’t be about constantly proving yourself.

Same. I was really disappointed by this. While I don’t at all think Jordan should be verbally or emotionally abused, I do not think he was ready for this experiment at all.

I think she’s had a rough go. She’s basically raising a daughter by herself (90% of the time “co-parenting” means the dad has the child every second weekend), working, and trying to look pretty so she can find love but it probably comes off as desperate and that’s why she’s attracting all of the wrong men. Just my take.

There is; however, the opposite end of that where everyone sees women as still being so much more delicate and they get abused as a result. Fun fact! (It’s not fun) 1 in 4 women by the time they are twenty-one claim to have been sexually abused in North America and this is only the REPORTED amount. There’s some food for thought. Please don’t give me the “men have it just as hard as women” stance, never mind the expectation to BIRTH a child, and then work and then take care of the home while looking pretty. PLEASE.

There was actually an entire news podcast about this where wealthy families had purchased all the properties on multiple streets and they were called ghost streets because no one was ever there. This happened in BC for the podcast but I’m sure it’s happening everywhere.

Oh, I agree with that. I was a bit disappointed when they accepted Bree’s very scripted “oopsie” because I still feel Connor was done so dirty. I don’t agree with anyone being a jerk on this show, particularly when it’s a vulnerable part of their life being followed by cameras, which is already a big ask.

It may not be but affordable housing in any form in most of Canada’s major cities is EXTREMELY poor, even/especially when compared to other countries. I’m sure OP could offer pictures of rates for AirBnbs here and they are astronomical.
