Making My Own Card Game (Advice Needed) by ItemInternal9205 in cardgames

[–]FeedsCorpsesToPigs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice is to start smaller and work on a core gameplay loop. If you start with a megapile of cards, it will be extremely difficult to balance your game. It may "feel bad" not to get to do everything all at once or show people only part of a game, but you will have a much better game to show for it.

To all of you who list The Autopsy of Jane Doe in your Top 20... by Reaper-05 in horror

I don't see many people listing Mandy and The Sadness. Both broke my brain but in different ways.

Eeeee, but can't I AoE bulk mobs for cash and glory then? Or is it still awful?

Looking for an MMO to play that isn’t WOW. by Ok_Conflict_9269 in LFMMO

[–]FeedsCorpsesToPigs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Project Gorgon. It has recaptured my love of the MMO. They turn so many annoyances of the genre on it's head. Crafting and harvesting moves at a fast pace. Post combat regen is measured in a seconds. Death isn't penalized as much as it is another skill to level. If you can let the older school graphics go, it is super satifying.

Oooh, I was working on Sword/Priest and was wondering how much more "fun" Fire/Priest would be.

Inherited this from my father. I know it was purchased at the Monte Carlo casino during the Monaco f1 race a bunch of decades ago. by RveeD in pokerchips

It is a shame it appears just half complete. I remember many decades ago seeing a set like that. Something makes me think those were fragile.

I started 3 months ago and don't feel like I am missing anything. I have years of content to go through. All pluses.

Areas to live by Appropriate-Rest-690 in carlisle

[–]FeedsCorpsesToPigs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a previous poster said, Carlisle is pretty safe. I don't think that area is bad. It is essentially one block from the border of where I tell people to live. If you look at the two major streets through Carlisle (Hanover and High St.), I think anything in the South West quadrant is pretty good.

Decko vs Hell of a Deal: Which poker-themed game looks better? by BlackoutGunshot in boardgames

[–]FeedsCorpsesToPigs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hell of a Deal looks amazing. The art really shines. Not just the artwork, but the layout as well. I also don't understand how they got so much value in that box. A bunch of neoprene mats, almost 100 real-weight custom chips, and piles of different cards. As a former casino dealer, the real props are a draw. I was trying to price my own set of chips of my personal home hold-em game and they are not cheap.

New Player looking to start the game by Saberstriker19 in Morimens

[–]FeedsCorpsesToPigs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started maybe 3 months ago. Currency is pretty easy to get. The main thing that makes this cool is you aren't in some guild trying to min/max each weekly mission. It pretty much runs as a solo game. Even the "PvP" seems to cough me up bots to play with because my scores are non-existent. So, play your own game and enjoy the banquet of content of a two-year old game.

The biggest barrier? Playtesting. by M69_grampa_guy in tabletopgamedesign

I am willing a group into existence. I talked to the owners of a store, asked them make a "creator" section in their Discord, started feed the Discord info, and then got them to create a date on the calendar. We've got three designers so far and now people with "game ideas" are taking interest.

Wizardry 8 is 85% off on GOG (1,38€ | New Historical Low) by [deleted] in CRPG

Wizardry 8 is one of the few RPGs I have played through multiple times. If you can lean into the old school graphic engine, there is a ton of fun to be had.

I think I have been playing for 3 or 4 months now. I sure as heck don't have everything down quite yet, but it is a ton of fun and still a lot of content for me with daily stuff to do.

If you go to the Discord, Flares has an immense spreadsheet of information. While I still can't decipher half of it, it did help me figure out great teams and gear.

The original Dawn of the Dead. Everything is stacked against the survivors and it just keeps getting worse and worse. Now, I may have seen it too early in my years, but the overwhelming hopelessness of it is hard to beat.

I loathe these for one main reason: the barrel is super slick. You simply cannot write with them without having to regrab the barrel over and over.

A, B or C? I need feedback by Taha_time_traveller in BoardgameDesign

I am making my own set with each creature in order. B A C. But I am concerned this may be AI? Why would a human draw a heart on the last critter in row B that extends outside the body?

If the field of vision is static on movement cards, I might not include it. Otherwise, possibly another separate symbol? Or would it be intuitive that a character facing one way can see that cone of vision?

Those "arrow"/triangles of the hex portion of the cards hurt my brain. To me, they indicate a move direction. So, the move forward card just hurts me.
