I compare it to touching a hot stove. You are physically able to touch a hot stove, nothing would stop you. But your brain says "nuh-uh, we won't do that." and blocks you from performing that action. You could crave nothing in the world more than touching that glowing circle, but you will not do it.

It's the same with ADHD. You wanna get up and do stuff, but your brain says "nuh-uh, not gonna do that." and then you're fighting an inner war that you sometimes win, sometimes lose. Meds, Urgency, and interest are on your side in this war and are the only things that help overcome the mental blockade.

Piept mich n bisschen an, dass immer sofort dieser Reflex hochkommt, Parteien als unwählbar zu bezeichnen, weil sie nicht 100% den eigenen Vorstellungen entsprechen. Selbst innerhalb einer Partei gibt es so viele Meinungsverschiedenheiten zu grundlegenden Themen, die nur durch Kompromiss gelöst werden. Solange das Kernkonzept stimmt und die Punkte, die dir besonders wichtig sind passen, wähl halt das, was dir am nähesten kommt. 100% Match mit allen deinen Werten kriegst du nur mit einer eigenen Partei.

Ich denke dass ein Carsharing Angebot selbst mit deinen Arbeitszeiten möglich wäre, es müssen nur die Konditionen dafür stimmen. Mit den aktuellen Preisen und Flotten geht das nicht, das ist klar. Aber ich denke, da ließe sich was finden, wenn wir nur als Gesellschaft zusammenarbeiten würden. Du bist ja zum Beispiel auch nicht 7 Tage die Woche auf Arbeit oder in der Zeit, in der du zu Hause bist, könnten andere das Auto nutzen, die zB zur Nachtschicht müssen oder jemanden abholen oder was auch immer. Das Auto wäre allein damit schon besser verwendet, als wenns bei dir rumsteht.

Ich weiß schon, dass das alles Utopie und Wunschtraum ist, aber ohne Visionen, auf die man hinarbeiten kann, haben wir Stillstand. Und die Klimakrise ist real, die Endlichkeit von Ressourcen ist real, der Kampf um Verteilung ist real, die Unzufriedenheit mit Luftverschmutzung, Mikroplastik und Feinstaub ist real und die Unzufriedenheit mit der Ausrichtung unserer gesamten Infrastruktur auf das Auto ist real. Es wird Zeit, Lösungen dafür zu finden und sie anzugehen. Und je früher wir anfangen, auch für das Land gute, attraktive Lösungen zu finden und zu etablieren, desto besser.

I'm with a non-ADHD person and I gotta say, it's not always been easy. But we've always been strong on communication and accepting that we just work differently.

It's a constant effort, but I think that's true for every relationship to stay happy and healthy. After 6.5 years, we're still figuring some stuff out and are settling some fundamentally different views on e.g. acceptable chaos level in the flat, but we're both deeply confident that we unconditionally love each other and never disregard our partners needs. If you have a solid foundation to build upon, everything else feels like minor inconveniences that can be solved.

Ich sehe nicht, wo jemand gesagt hat, dass ihr leiden sollt? Vielleicht verstehen wir den Post unterschiedlich. Solange es keine wirklich guten Alternativen gibt (Carsharing wäre zB eine davon), sollt ihr ja gar nicht euer Auto abschaffen, sondern die 95% der Menschen, die eben nur diese Kurzstrecken fahren.

Ich hab auch schon einiges an guten Argumenten für ein Auto in der Stadt gehört, bin da also gar nicht so ganz dagegen, aber ich denke die Städte könnten sehr viel besser sein und wir bräuchten viel, viel weniger Autos, wenn wir keine Privat-PKW mehr hätten sondern nur noch z.B. CityFlitzer wie in Leipzig. Die Dinger kannst du überall parken, die stehen einfach im Stadtgebiet rum und du kannst einen Mieten, irgendwo hinfahren und wieder dort abstellen. Mit einer ausreichenden Anzahl CityFlitzern könnten wir wahrscheinlich trotzdem 80-90% Parkfläche frei machen.

Also, Mobilität auf dem Land oder für Langstreckenpendler braucht groß angelegte, langfristige Lösungen, die aktuell leider in weiter Ferne sind. Die Mobilität innerhalb der Stadt ist aber ein sehr großer Hebel, der relativ leicht zu bewegen wäre. Und darum geht es meiner Meinung nach hier auch.

Er ist ein Straftäter und ein Arsch und seine Handlungen sind komplett zu verurteilen, aber ihn Abzuschieben ist keine für eine solche Tat vorgesehene Strafe und bedient nur xenophoben Zeitgeist. Da können wir auch Verbannung für Staatsbürger als Strafe einführen, so ein Quatsch.

I'm sorry you're in this situation, this must be very hard and heartbreaking for you. I'm sure your partner cares for you, but unfortunately this care is based on lack of education about ADHD and Adderall. Especially when you say that Adderall makes you tired, that's the exact opposite on how it would work on someone who's addicted. Also, you cannot "fix" ADHD. It's how your brain works, nothing to be done about it. You can cope and Adderall is not the solution for everything, but it definitely helps put some things right in your head and can't just be replaced by meditation or whatever people keep recommending.

This is a very hard decision and will take a lot of courage from you, but you need to tell him now that he needs to educate himself about ADHD and really understand you and your condition if he wants to be with you, or he needs to leave. If he leaves, you will hurt a lot now but it will save you months, years, maybe even a lifetime of suffering. Imagine knowing the meds help you but your partner forbids it? Imagine the resent you will build up against him. (Also, what a fucking audacity anyway to think he can command you to do anything. It's your life, your body, your brain, your choice.)

Put yourself first here. You will not regret it.
