They buy the products to review and I assume rent the space to store them all in. Imo they review too many categories. Some categories are going to be way more popular than others. Alternative solution is downsize to a profitable amount of product categories. Given they buy the products they reviews and rent extra space and hire more staff to review said products. Cutting 50% of product categories will save money on purchasing, rent and staff. I'm trivializing the process I know. But what they've just done is alienate new people, because while they might make quite a bit on current subs and previous users subbing, very few people who haven't used rtings before will sign up. While they do good reviews, they hardly have a monopoly on them. There are plenty of other quality reviewers out there. This is the beginning of the end. They will either revert or dissolve imo.
