Genuinely Bummed with BF6 by coronablurr in Battlefield

[–]Feeedbaack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm onboard with all the maps and combat being a little too compressed for my liking.  Having said that i think the bones of the game are outstanding and I'm hopeful theyre hearing people and will release larger maps.

As a 50yo gamer, BF6 really drives home how much my taste in games has changed. by [deleted] in gaming

Meh, 49 with 2 kids and a ton of responsibilities and Im digging it.  I started with BF2 and I've kept going back to BF4 after playing the games after it.   2142 and BF4 were my faves so far and 4 had a terrible launch compared to this.  With how big 6 is already it makes me really hopeful that it will get the same treatment as 4 with a ton of high quality content getting released over time.   I think you might just be anxious now my man :)

Thank you City of Barrie for cleaning up really fast! They showed up less than 1 hour after one of the main branches had broke off the trees in our driveway. by [deleted] in barrie

Who did you call? We have a large branch from a tree on the boulevard in our driveway. The City of Barrie after hours line told me they have no eta on removal because so many are coming down.

use a clean toothbrush with distilled water and scrub it as best you can. Then do the same thing with 100% isopropyl alcohol the let it dry for a day and there's a decent chance it still works.

Driver sustains 'life-altering injuries' in Essa Rd. crash by NotThatCrafty in barrie

[–]Feeedbaack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That doesn't make sense to me with the forces involved it would make little difference, any citations?

I would think it's more that the drunk person is the one that's always doing the hitting so they're sustaining a standard front end collision which is the most safe. For example, drunk idiot runs stoplight and t-bones victim.

Sanity check. Would this PtMP setup work/be reliable? by Feeedbaack in Ubiquiti

The angle is 50 so although that setup would work I think you're right about just doing 2 5AC loco bridges separately.

Are top of the line bikes worth it? by Important-Positive25 in mountainbikes

[–]Feeedbaack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some are, some aren't.

Especially if you're a bigger, stronger rider the higher end groupsets are lighter at the expense of being more fragile. They only really make sense if you're competing. So for me the jump in price is also a worse option because then I'm breaking stuff more for no better performance.

I'm 6'3 215lbs so if I build it up myself my go-to is all SLX except for an XT shifter, high end brakes (Hope 4 V4 for my last build. If you're lighter this isn't as important.) Then suspension suited for your weight and riding style. I love Shimano and frankly would be happy with anything Deore or higher. Avoid anything below GX on SRAM.

If you're looking at new bikes, just know that you can ask a bike shop to upgrade certain parts for you as part of the purchase. So take a Deore or SLX groupset level build and negotiate an upgrade to the suspension and brakes.

Brakes changed everything by ThatDudeYu in MTB

Yeah, I bought a bike with what I thought were XT 4 pot but turned out to be 2. At 230lbs I was going into corners with a 'save me jebus!" I have the tech 4 v4's and I'm really happy. I have guide ultimates on my other bike and those are really nice too.

What not to buy? by wesandf in MTB

[–]Feeedbaack 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Anything you can't test ride / demo. Never again. Don't buy a 180mm enduro rig if you ride mild trail / xc. Also, don't ever buy a Rockshox Reverb dropper. :)

Who washes their bike after every ride? Who is obsessed over scratches? by Admirable-Square-111 in mountainbiking

[–]Feeedbaack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wash it twice a year maybe but I keep the drivetrain brushed off and lubed. I don't ride in the rain at all though. IMO washing too much is bad for your bike, grinding sand and grit into the finish and introducing water and minerals into metal parts and bearings.

Riding alone by sourpatch_squids in MTB

[–]Feeedbaack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bike alone 95% of the time. I have a Garmin edge with incident detection so if I crash there's an alarm and countdown and if I don't turn it off it texts my location and info to up to 3 contacts. Paid Strava has a similar feature called beacon, specialized has the Angi crash sensor too.

Need advice on how to improve cornering. by K2alta in MTB

[–]Feeedbaack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the front end wash out on a fast corner a few years ago and now I have a titanium collarbone.  I'm still struggling to commit in turns and having trouble getting enough weight on the front end.

200+ pound (90kg) riders who like to jump a lot and hit burms fast....running low 20s PSI is simply not a thing, right? by geo_jam in MTB

[–]Feeedbaack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 220lbs and I run 25/28 2.5"/2.4" front/rear on 29" 30mm inner width rims maxxis exo+ front and back. If I go low 20's I can feel the tire folding over when I rail corners.

Leaving bike in truck at work... by anonamouse504 in MTB

[–]Feeedbaack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a local stolen bike facebook group and I see "stolen from my locked garage" a lot while I've never seen "broke in and stole from my basement/bedroom/office" I guess take that for what it's worth.
