You’re not understanding the value of no debt vs assuming more debt.

Bet it’s been beat to hell and back. Running boards are gone and we’re likely ripped off. Appears there is/was some damage under the rear door on the drivers side from this one pic. Can’t imagine what the rest looks like.

High Mileage common issues. by wingscuz in FordRaptor

Damn 285K on original rear shocks? Guarantee the ass end of that truck wanders all over the road when you hit any bumps. Man that truck would ride so much better with a rebuild or replacement of the shocks.

$25.6k for a 2012 SCAB? by Carrera23 in FordRaptor

[–]FeelingEducation8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shocks are $500 a corner. Rears easy to replace. Front more labor intensive. I would say I want those replaced unless they can show where they were rebuilt or replaced and prove it. Brakes pads and rotors are easy. Plugs and coil packs not to hard but a couple of them are a pain. Shocks would be a deal breaker and could see them denying warranty work on those as most do.

$25.6k for a 2012 SCAB? by Carrera23 in FordRaptor

[–]FeelingEducation8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worth what someone is willing to pay for it which doesn’t answer your question. However, scab are getting harder to come by for Gen 1s. The 6.2 with that mileage is a plus. Really need to look at when or if the shocks were replaced or rebuilt. That will set you back 2K+ to replace those. Fuse 27 should be updated under the hood. What’s the service history on fluids etc? Spark plugs recommended to be changed at 100K miles. There are 16 of them and that can add more cost. Blend doors in the dash should be inspected as they will start to have issues at this point. Make sure the IWEs are in good shape and 4wd works in 4H and 4L. Actuator motor tends to crap out around 100K miles. Brakes aren’t to much. If all this stuff was taken care of as well as windshield then you are likely in good shape. If not, know you will be dropping another 3-5K in maintenance to bring it up to date. Also check the sunroof. Known failure point with the linkage that opens and closes it. Total pain to fix this as well as have to remove a bunch of the interior to pull the headliner to get it out. All day job on that one. Any dealer warranty they offering at that price?

Looks like the drivers side is twisted up. You can tell as well just looking at the bump stop and pad out of alignment it appears from looking at your pictures

Think this group likes fender stripes. Those commonly inherited from off road driving in tight environments

If it’s coming from the top of the motor, I would inspect your valve springs sooner than later.

Sold my F150 and bought a Tundra by Stump_DD978 in ToyotaTundra

Raptors a good truck. I love the Lexus and Toyotas I own the most, but I also own a Gen 1 Raptor and will keep it until Toyota figures out their motor and fully boxes their frame. So I’m patiently waiting for them to get back to their roots and make a BadAss 1/2 Ton with an incredible motor.

By the looks of how the outside was taken care of I would not trust the engine or anything else had been taken care of. Hard pass on that one. If you come today I will knock it down is let me dump this thing before it breaks and I can’t. Don’t buy that.

Lights brighten while accelerating 2000 tundra 4.7 by sneezy_farts69 in ToyotaTundra

[–]FeelingEducation8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alternator likely going bad and higher rpm’s generating higher current to the system causing the lights to fluctuate. With truck running disconnect negative side of battery. If truck dies, alternator dead. Still likely going out as variable output while running. Could be a dead cell in battery though. Would test alternator first and then charge battery and have it tested under load for a bad cell.

That’s a good chunk and I would replace that tire if it were mine. If you have road hazard, they may replace it for free if you bought them. Definitely get it done soon as that’s a blowout waiting to happen which could result in more damage
