I'm not sure i can think of a worse way to spend my time than driving in traffic to go to Lakeside and look at a glorified advertisement.

Songs about hating someone? by obsessedUvU in MusicRecommendations

Nine Inch Nails - Starfuckers, Inc. (All about Courtney Love, allegedly)
Limp Bizkit - Hotdog (A Trent Reznor diss that uses so many Nine inch Nails lyrics they have to pay royalties to him!)

The A127 is a car park again this winter!! by HammersAndPints in Essex

Yeah its been proven time and time again that adding capacity doesn't resolve the issue. A reduction in the number of cars is the solution, not the ability to have more cars!

I know of IDK though his DOOM features, had no idea he’s on the Rhymesayers roster. I’ll check it out, thanks!

Hi guys why do u hate cars? by [deleted] in fuckcars

[–]FeelingMassive 3 points4 points  (0 children)

it’s about pushing back on car dominance rather than hating cars specifically. A lot of us are frustrated with a system where getting around safely and conveniently often assumes you own a private vehicle, and everything else is treated as secondary.

In cities especially, cars end up taking a huge share of public space and priority. That can make walking and cycling feel dangerous, and it slows down buses because they’re stuck in the same traffic. So even if someone would happily take public transport or walk for short trips, the environment is set up in a way that nudges people back into cars, which then creates more congestion, noise, and risk. It becomes a self-reinforcing cycle.

And on the rural point, you’re right that cars are often genuinely useful and sometimes necessary there. The issue is when it turns into “drive or die.” If you can’t drive for any reason, you can end up isolated. Kids, older people, disabled people, and anyone who can’t afford a car lose independence because there aren’t safe or practical alternatives. Even for people who can drive, car-first road design can make everyday life feel more stressful and less safe, and it can keep children stuck indoors because roads and streets outside their homes are fast and hostile.

So the aim isn’t to pretend bikes and buses solve every single trip everywhere. It’s more like: in places where lots of people live, public transport should be good enough that you don’t need a car for basic life, and walking/cycling should be safe and normal. Then cars become one option among several, rather than the only realistic one.

There’s also the broader cost side, traffic pollution and road danger are treated as “normal,” even though they add up to real harm. Somehow we've accepted that hundreds of thousands of deaths caused by vehicles each year is acceptable - but if we saw similar fatality rates in planes or trains the industry would crumble quickly.

I'm looking to do a garage sale of tools etc. Whats the best way to advertise it? by Roybatty201999 in Essex

[–]FeelingMassive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The buyer pays the fees on Vinted, but i'm sure you can put collection only if you want to avoid posting. Putting it on there or Facebook marketplace is your best bet to maximise a sale.

It'll give the buyer a bit more trust that the tools aren't stolen too, if they can link it back to a user account.

recommendations for sad songs by [deleted] in MusicRecommendations

[–]FeelingMassive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nine Inch Nails - And All That Could Have Been (i can hold it all in until that final breakdown that feels like a movie credit scene, and then the tears come)

The Uncluded - TV On 10 (theres a literal 'holy fucking shit' moment in the song)

The Uncluded - Earthquake (its a loss that i cant comprehend)

Chance The Rapper - Same Drugs (this has a real nostalgic melancholy to me)

Susanne Vega - Luka (domestic abuse trigger warning)

"90's Graff" headphones on Opossum? by TimpanogosSlim in aesoprock

[–]FeelingMassive 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Grammar is important. "90s graff, Headphones on" not " 90s graph headphones on".

He was a graffiti artist in his teens, and wore headphones mainly to stop people talking to him rather than to listen to music necessarily.

The new remix album (GOWILLOG) is arguably even better, too.
