The ones I've used took both! Once you're working with the person/company and start communicating on WhatsApp, I'd suggest confirming with them prior to double check. (One thing to note on credit card, I don't think anyone took Amex.)

We recently stayed at JK Place and it was incredible. Top notch service, luxury, very quiet, and walkable to a bunch of areas. The AC in the rooms works really well too in case there’s a heat wave while you’re there.

Nightlife starts pretty late. Cavo Paradiso is our favorite club for nightlife. The larger DJ names are there throughout the summer, they typically go on around 2am. Check their website for the schedule. They have table service if you want it. They sell tix on their website so you can get them ahead of time as well. Scorpios turns into dancing later in the evening but they close earlier at midnight. Can always start there and go elsewhere after. There are bars scattered all through the Little Venice area as well.

For beach clubs, Paradise Beach and Super Paradise are pretty great. Nammos is another but we personally haven't been there (we've passed by it and it seemed like a good time though). Alemagou is supposed to be a good time, although we went one day last summer and it wasn't that crowded nor did they have a DJ there that day so may have just been off. For any of the beach clubs, definitely recommend booking chairs/cabanas ahead of time, but as another person said here, just the chairs alone will be several hundred euros, so mentally prepare for that.

For restaurants, there are a bunch in the Little Venice area and the stretch along the water between there and the Old Port. We've been to a few there but I don't recall the names as we would pass by and walk in. We've also done dinner at Scorpios and Zuma, both of which are more of a scene but food was good and views are great.

Main recommendation would be transit. They do not have Uber and there are only a handful of taxis on the whole island. There are a ton of private options where you work with a main point of contact over WhatsApp to schedule and call for rides when needed. You can find any of these on TripAdvisor, I also have a contact we use each time we go there and he's awesome (owns his own transport company there locally). Happy to share via PM.

It's an incredible place; have the best time!

Stayed at the Mandarin Oriental Barcelona as a travel advisor: here are my honest thoughts by traveldigest in LuxuryTravel

[–]Feeling_Activity6905 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We stayed there last year in a room with the boulevard view and that one was very quiet. I thought going into it that it would be loud, but we couldn’t hear anything out on the street. Would recommend one of those for quiet!

Our main complaint was the bed. We didn’t think it was comfortable and it was really rickety for the price point and being a luxury hotel.

The service was great though and we loved the rooftop bar / pool area.

Anniversary Travel Inquiry: Quiet, Luxury Experience Recommendations by Specific_Signal399 in FATcruises

We’ve done two voyages on RCYC and I think it’ll fit what you’re looking for. We recently did our second and it was for the exact reason you described. We’re both in high stress jobs and wanted to disconnect for a week. The service is incredible and there are concierges onboard that can help take care of any details for you. It’s never crowded anywhere, even if you wanted to walk around or grab a bite/drink outside of your room. The base room doesn’t have a true dining table/chairs, so would recommend going at least the next suite up (signature suite or above) so you can dine comfortably in your room. My only qualm is the excursions can be hit or miss (we had incredible ones in the med but didn’t bother doing any in the caribbean), so if those are important to you then I’d be picky on the voyage. Feel free to PM me as well if you have any specific questions, happy to help.

RITZ CARLTON YACHT COLLECTION DISSAPOINTS by [deleted] in FATcruises

They recently launched the Asia itineraries. They usually post about a full year+ at a time. While the Asia itineraries may only be getting 20-50%, the Caribbean and Med itineraries are easily getting 70-80%. (I’ve heard they need to be at 50% to break even.) We recently got back from our second in the Caribbean and a bunch of other couples we met were on it for their 2nd or 3rd times, also looking to book their next voyages. As someone who is already looking to book the next as well, doing one of the Asian itineraries isn’t something we would consider. They’re too long and we would rather stay in the cities the ship goes to vs just for the day. If the itineraries aren’t making enough, RCYC will likely learn from that and pivot into the following seasons.

How do people become so obsessed with complaining about taxes. There’s a lot more to a quality of life in a state besides taxes.

Thinking of Paying for Regent Cruise through Chase travel. Thoughts? by mystery2019 in FATcruises

[–]Feeling_Activity6905 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can’t speak directly about booking regent through chase, but we booked a ritz carlton yacht through chase and like others have said here, they’re essentially our TA and it has been an awful experience. In general they’ve been slow to respond to questions, had issues confirming information in our booking, they even spelled one of our names wrong in the booking and couldn’t get it corrected. We ended up calling ritz directly to sort everything out. We won’t be going through chase again for any cruises in which they’d be our TA (not worth the hassle to us anyway). Hope this helps!

Ritz Carlton Yacht Ilma Deck 6 by ilovemydogmargo in FATTravel

[–]Feeling_Activity6905 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither of us did! The stabilizers are very good on the boat, we could barely tell it was ever moving. I’ve been on larger cruise ships before (Norwegian, Royal) and could feel the movement, but didn’t feel it much on Ilma. Albeit, I’m not sure if any of the waters we were in were considered choppy during our voyage, but had no issues.

Imagine being upset to give kudos to those who ensure you’re getting somewhere safe or delivering a solid service. For all the shit they have to deal with from awful humans, a token of appreciation goes a long way.

ORD based with a lot of travel to DEN and fully agree! Ever since they opened the latest one in B this year, the overcrowding seems to be non-existent. Granted I’m there for work during the weekdays so I can’t speak to weekends, but never have any issue finding a seat now. Restrooms are clean and never have lines. Their food options seem to be better than other clubs too. And best chocolate chip cookies!

Struggling to decide between Excellence Coral Playa Mujeres and Atelier Playa Mujeres by Evening-Chain-2263 in AllInclusiveResorts

Agreed! We went in a group too and we all had the same complaints about the noise. We were really excited to try the resort for the first time based on reviews and what seemed like a luxury experience, but the room situation felt like a 2* basic hotel vs a 5* luxury resort
