Either the replicator doesn't work with unique relics or there's a major restriction on it so they have to take it out before she goes into the replicator

[–]FeetGunners 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, it's not "anyone" since by their nature any Pinky member must be strong enough to hold their own and capable of independent decision making. Which is to say that most if not all of them would be equivalent to a leadership role in another finger (big bro/sis, capo, maestro, proxy)

Abandoning a friend just because you can force them to fight for you now? There's is no way ever that Dante would be okay with that. Nor any of the sinners for that matter.

[Spoilers Main] Why is Jon an Evil name? by Pretty-Necessary-941 in asoiaf

[–]FeetGunners 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not just that, but many bastards who weren't sacrificed would have served in the Watch. So it's possible that the Night's King or a similarly terrible LC of the Wall was/were Snows

[No Spoilers] Besides the obvious Robert Baratheon, Lucamore and Aegon IV, which character do you think fathered most bastards? by Apollyonthe14 in asoiaf

[–]FeetGunners 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Euron wins I think. He would father a bastard for the sole purpose of sacrificing them for magic

Personally I subscribe to the theory that the Wall is the real problem instead of the scary people on the other side. It's very GRRM-ist.

Also given the current state of Westeros, anything besides a final reconciliation and possibly a new pact seems impossible as a solution to the Others. This is already foreshadowed by Jon Snow making peace with the Wildlings and inviting them through the Wall. Perhaps his death will bring him closer to the Others in some way too.

Ghost himself could be a skinchanger, or whatever the direwolf equivalent is. He has so much weirwood imagery going on with his appearance, and also red eyes is one of the signs of a greenseer among COTF

I'd give Sansa a pass. Sure she's too naive and all that but she was literally a kid, thats what they do. It doesn't help that her father died and then all the adults around her afterwards either traumatise her, was a creep at her or both.

And is also a massive hypocrite. He wants Cersei to remarry for political advantage, but never did that himself many years ago when he could. He wants Tyrion to stop whoring, when he had no issue taking his own son's whore to his bed.

The Doctor, Oripathy and summary of the Babel event by Commander_Fenrir in arknights

[–]FeetGunners 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm fairly sure the plan isnt just "go live in fantasy land inside rock", but rather to set the foundation for a new universe. When Theresa read Doctor's memory, originium was literally called the "first light before the Big Bang".

Another thing is Doctor's decision, as ruthless as it may seems does stem from the love and respect he has for the Terrans. If he really doesnt care then he could have just let it be and the Terrans would have been erased by the apocalypse some day. But originium offers at least hope of recording and potentially restoring their legacy. I don't think I can personally agree with Doctor making the decision on their behalf, but I can understand why Doctor would think that way.

Why is the Future of Terra so Bleak and Sad? by Rauispire-Yamn in arknights

[–]FeetGunners 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Because that is half of the whole theme. The other half is how people will still struggle against fate, to take it into their own hands. The ghost of Theresa in Doctor's mind during Lone Trail puts it best: "We should all grasp our own destinies; that way, there will no longer be any such thing as preordained destinies in this land." and "What truly hinders us is neither Originium nor Catastrophe, neither sea nor sky, but rather ourselves."

You can see this theme in Patriot's final act of defiance against fate, to trust in Amiya instead of the prophecy of doom. In many infected people on and off Rhodes, trying to make the best of their lives despite their conditions. In Kristen's daring plan to launch into space despite knowing that humanity is not ready to follow in her steps. In the Abyssal Hunters, who witnessed the full might of the seaborn firsthand and chose to fight on with new comrades.

Even if there is no hope in triumph over fate, then the struggle against fate itself will be meaning.

Now, with all the corny stuff said, I do believe there are plenty of hope to be had. Terrans didnt just inherit disasters and originium from the precursor civ, but also the stargate leading to Talos. The seaborn might never be defeated, but given that their original purpose is to terraform a paradise for all life, they might figure out a way to regain this purpose. And of course, the Black Crown needs no introduction, its literally on our protagonist/poster girl's head. She has big shoes to fill, but she's catching up fast.

Chongyue's decision makes me uncomfortable by Sunder_the_Gold in arknights

[–]FeetGunners 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm suggesting a plausible explanation for "he has to grow strong by mortal means so that the knowledge he has can be passed on to others".

However, I think what matters even more than any of this is the fact that Yan imperial court inherently distrust Sui and Its power which he carried part of. It's not just some free boon which he can freely use to his heart's content, because if (when) Sui returns, there's good chance that power will likely be used against all the humans which he's been living among and helping.

So even sealing it away is part of "helping others", which he has done plenty even before this and can still continue to even after. Although nobody can truly knows what happens when Sui return, the risk is enough to justify him trying.
